Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Peeped The To Do List at a pre-screening last night. :pimp: Movie comes out July 26th.

Stars Aubrey Plaza, Bill Hader, Rachel Bilson, Maybe from Arrested Development, The QB from Friday Night Lights, Andy Samberg, etc.

There hasn't been much buzz for it yet. I imagine that'll pick up a bit in the next month of course, but they had just a budget of 1.2 million for this film so I wonder if it'll even get the pub it needs to put itself in a position to succeed.

It's getting touted as the girl version of American Pie, and I really didn't feel that way outside of one song that was used in American Pie. This film is pretty ******g disgusting. Like, there were many times when I cringed, and they tried to do a lot of gross out humor. You actually see semen, her having an orgasm to Hillary Clinton's face, etc. :smh:

Rachel Bilson is still smokin man. :pimp: The scene with her in the wonder bra... bravo.

Bill Hader not exiting when meeting the dad.

Of course, none of you can laugh with me since it's not out for a while. Wouldn't recommend seeing this one in theaters though. Definitely a redbox. Worth my time though since I scored the tickets for free.

the movie trailers of this did not look good at all

and im sorry i kno u all hate that fat lady but i cant wait to see the heat this week

Watched A Time To Kill last night.

Loved it, real solid movie. From an awesome McConaughey performance, classic Spacey, and a great Sameul L, I really enjoyed it.

McConaughey has become one of my favorites, really underrated when he wants to turn it on away from the chick flicks :pimp:.

Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.

Straight to Blu-ray so it's going to be trash. But will watch just because.

Being a kid and watching "Childs Play" with a My Buddy sitting next to you was not fun. :smh:

so whats the personal score to settle if the mom already offed herself?

fromthe last name im assuming the star is brad dourif daughter...

shoulda just rebooted and used a kid sister like doll instead but ofcourse ol brady boy wouldnt be able to star so...

edit: ok nevermind thought the one who offed herself was the mom of the lil girl

I tried watching season 2 of "Boss". Couldn't finish it
mean.gif

The show is one of Kelsey Grammers best work but knowing that they cancelled the show made me lose interest. Couldn't watch it knowing that the whole story wouldn't be wrapped up properly.

Has that ever happened to anybody? I couldn't invest myself into the show knowing it was cancelled only 2 seasons in.

Happens to me all the time. Used to at least more. I don't really get into most shows unless I know it'll wrap up. I try at least not to. It sucks bad so I try

In case anyone is interested, this week's edition of Entertainment Weekly is their 100 Greatest list. It includes movies, TV shows, albums and books. The movie list so far and it looks a lot like other similar lists I've seen: Citizen Kane #1, Godfather #2, etc. Still, its interesting.

TV list has the Wire #1, Sopranos #5. Haven't looked all the way through it, so I don't know if GOT made the list yet.

is that list online by any chance?

watching tdkr for the first time since seeing it in theaters. man do i love listening to bane. got me turning up the volume in every scene he's in.

wrote a quick little blog entry about 10 of my favorite characters. really just went throuh it quickly so i missed some for sure

http://frankcesare.blogspot.com/2013/06/10-great-movie-characters.html

10 Great Movie Characters
I'm watching The Dark Knight Rises for the first time since catching it in theaters at the Arclight in Hollywood, and I decided to compile this quick list. Characters are in no particular order:

1 - Bane - between his voice, his menace, and the dialogue written for him, Bane is by far one of the few character I need to max the volume out on.

2 -Tyler Durden - what needs to be said? Brad Pitt crushed this role in the Palahniuk adaptation of Fight Club. Durden wore dope clothes, awesome shades, and had a fantastic message throughout the film.

3 - The Joker - this is in regards to Heath Ledger's version. I still find myself asking others "Why So Serious?" when the opportunity presented itself. And that laugh and "he missed" line when Batman drove past him were great. Such neurosis was needed to bring The Joker to life and unfortunately, the role consumed Ledger. But his performance, and that bank scene in the beginning, will never be forgotten.

4 - Holly Golightly - yeah, she's a fancy prostitute that is confused, lost, and lonely, but somehow, Audrey Hepburn made you sympathize with Holly's plight and her messiness throughout the film, plus her relationship with Cat, made me forget how poor of a person Golightly was.

5 - Napolean Dynamite - ok, this is really just a nostalgic choice. I mean, the movie's dumb, but it's so stupidly fun and weird that it's become an instant classic and must watch in my eyes whenever I see it on the television.

6 - Shoshanna - only in a Tarantino movie can a woman escape a Jew Hunter and eventually cross paths with him again, as well as locking a bunch of Nazis in a theater (including Hitler) and torching the damn place.

7 - David Wooderson - That's what I like about high school girls...

8 - Andy, 40 Year Old Virgin - God Bless Judd Apatow for writing that movie and creating one of the funniest characters in cinema.

9 - Ron Burgundy - When in Rome

10 - Anton Chigurh - Javier Bardem had one of the coldest performances of all time with this role. Such a vicious killer with such a unique weapon.

Honorable mention, Beaumont from Jackie Brown. Just love everything about him in the short screen time Tucker had.

Man I can only watch that like once a year. Way too many feels

Just watched The Inkwell for the first time. I'd like for this movie to be remade, I enjoyed the story but some of the acting was awful and Larenz Tate's character just bugged me the entire time.

Not to incur Ska's wrath about discussing books and movies, but I'd strongly recommend reading Breakfast at Tiffany's. The movie is a romantic comedy and carried by Hepburn's charm (and does it well), while the book tackles deeper issues and it's a well-written novella. I wouldn't have picked it up on my own, but I was assigned it my freshman year in college and I was really impressed.

Saw Monsters U today with my son. Another excellent offering from Pixar. Pretty predictable in terms of the story, but still done very well.

What are some good movies that are available on Netflix?

I've looked through all of them, but not sure what to watch. I hate wasting time and life watching a horrible movie.

I watched apocalypse now and the machinist the other day..
