Watch Camron in Percentage lastnite it was better than I thought it be

And just finish watching Master Killer 36 chambers for the 50/11th time this morning nothing like classic kung fu flix to start off your week

Who all remembers Samurai Sunday

Just finished Catch Me If You Can on blu...great movie, but the picture itself is one of the best that I have on blu-ray.

Almost reference quality imo.

Been catching up on the venture bros. I realized I like almost every single adult swim series. It's like they really let them do whatever they want. Home movies, metalacalypse, aqua teen hunger, sea lab,

They are all very funny and original.

And yes Johnny archer is hilarious. DAAANGER ZOOOONE!

Side Effects was genius. Took a Law & Order/SVU plot made it more detailed, subtracted the cops and added in Jude Law

Really liked Rooney (first time really recognizing her in anything, more familiar with her sister) and Catherine in this as well.
just saw it the other day. really good movie.

Was on vacation last week, got to check out a couple new releases in between showings of Pitch Perfect.

White House Down.
The bright side, I had LOW expectations due to the previews. And in fact, it wasn't as terrible as I expected, so I ended up being ok with it. Not great, nothing special, but better than I anticipated at least. Some HORRIBLE film work, some stupid messed up CGI shot that looked like a high school kid did it, and the sound would come in and out. One second a machine gun is blazing like the movie Heat, the next minute machine guns goin off and you can barely hear them. :smh: No idea what that was all about.
Wasn't as cheesy as I expected, they used all that in the preview, so I was prepared for those moments. The story was meh enough, Olympus was the better film, but this is a decent HBO type watch. I give it a 6, maybe 6.5

World War Z
Preview ruined the whole movie. The best parts of the movie are all in the preview. I only saw 2 things that made me happy that were not in the preview. The smart kid on the plane talkin about Mother Nature. :wow: Such a well done set of dialogue there, LOVED that angle. LOVED IT.
And the zombie slidin on his knees. :wow: :wow: :wow: Look here, when Zombies come, if they slow, gravy. I will live a long time. I can run fast, they can't. If it's the Dawn of the Dead remake type zombies that run fast, I might be scared a little. But man, if they start breakin out the ninja zombies, full speed sliding on their knees at ya outta nowhere, **** all that, I'll swallow a bullet and watch from above ya'll. That **** was AWESOME. That scene alone was worth my 7.50, ****.
Pitt was solid, sort of Moneyball without any contracts, everything he does is with ease now. A former UN guy can just reach out and call anyone? Get a plane anywhere. Get a plane to land wherever? Get no grief, no **** from anyone? Had kind of an Ocean's feel to how easy everything was for him.
7/10

I made a thread about it and I think psk posted about it a few times, but The House I Live In is out on DVD and available for Instant Streaming.

Documentary on the War on Drugs, check it out.

I highly, highly, highly recommend watching The House I Live In , the director Eugene Jarecki did an incredible job of explaining our nations drug policy & the for profit prison system. I've watched it 3 times so far within the last 1 1/2-2 months. The doc spoke a lot of truths in a way I've never seen until now.

Jarecki also did a few other docs like one on Regan & Freakonomics however another good one he did was Why We Fight which provided insight into US foreign policy & the defense industry...

Why We Fight

There's only so many different movies about the drug war, for profit prison system, and the military industrial complex you can watch before you grow numb.

They are informative but clearly don't change anything.

anyone ever watch the western movie "Skin Game" starring James Garner and Lou Gossett Jr?

it's on now on Encore Westerns and there are a lot of similarities to Django Unchained

Been at my cabin, going to catch y'all up on everything I've seen.

LETS START WITH MY FAVORITE MOVIE OF THE SUMMER... just edging out Star Trek: Into Darkness.

World War Z. :pimp:

Warm Bodies capitalized on the zombie craze train by getting there first, but this was a whole different angle and the one I think most wanted.

Pitt picked a winner. The movie helped him look good, but not for lack of vice versa, as well. Yeah, it's about zombies , yeah it's a blockbuster, so how can take home any respectable person's favorite movie of the summer "award" (thus far)? Turns out if the topic is well-thought out and well executed, the plot can look extremely relevant, and pretty smart. Once in a while Pitt's acting was stale, but for majority of the film he was an incredibly believable former UN member... someone handpicked to look out for the scientist that was supposed to "save the world". The complaints I heard about this one was that they focused on the family too much, but I didn't feel that way at all after seeing it. He was pretty much one his own for most of it, and there was enough "why is this happening?" "how can we fix it?" "having you guess WHY by the writers/director supplying visual clues" as WELL as the popcorn flick fan's need to see zombie infestation scenes & people turning.

Pitt needing to be the guinea pig for his own theory, and him walking right past the first zombie. :pimp: And then my favorite part of the movie (probably because the score was PERFECT at this moment: Pitt walking through the bridge/tunnel holding the terminal diseases after he had indeed infected himself. Him walking towards those zombies with absolutely no fear, but yet triumph on his face as he parted them like a sea. 8) :wow:

9.5/10

Man of Steel. >D

I could waste time on the things that I liked. But that just wouldn't be my style once I've decided I despise a movie.

So let me get started!

-Everyone pretty much knows on Krypton that their planet is about to be destroyed, SEE YA. Yet... they send the general and his minions who betrayed the whole floating sphere by organizing a coux and killing it's most distinguished members.... to exile in the middle of the space, minutes before the planet explodes... where they just happen to now be the only ones that survive the end of Krypton!?

-Costner's weirdly timed and corny "BUT YOU ARE MY SON!" as he hugs the young Cavill.

-Why the dad had to go back and get a got damn DOG? At some point, biology shows us that we're pretty much superiors to them. I mean, they are OUR PETS. >D

-Oh, and why did Costner go to get the dog, and not Superman? To conceal his son's secret? Yeah, about that. I'm pretty sure if no one really cared besides a couple parents that he lifted the weight of a bus, the weight of the water inside the bus, and the weight of the kids inside the bus.... out of the water JUST BY HIMSELF about a decade earlier, the entire nation is not going to erupt if he saves a dog from a tornado. :smh: C'MON.

-Amy Adams (or Lois Lane) doesn't want to reveal the location of Superman, because she just doesn't think it's right? You just met this guy. Yeah, he just saved you from that weird alien octopus thingy, but would you even have encountered the weird alien octopus thingy had he never been there in the first place? What kind of devotion to a guy you barely know do you have to have to not reveal his whereabouts when the fate of the entire planet is on the line?

-Oh, and the movie ended about 4 times.

-After being the most wanted man on the planet for a few minutes after Zod infected everyone's TV with his "Get Superman to me" messages, AND saving the world from Zod and his goons... I'm supposed to believe Superman can just throw on a pair of glasses and NO ONE RECOGNIZES HIM? :I :I :I In the other movies and comics, didn't he start as the reporter/journalist before the entire world knew who he was? What the hell Snyder? What in Zod's name is going on?

This movie was an insult to humanity's common sense. I can't believe Nolan put his name on this garbage.
