Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Enjoy Mad Men, I thought they did a phenomenal job this season.. it was one of my favorites.

Just got through watching Boogie Nights...
:smokin

This movie was awesome. It had drama, action, and comedy! .... and boobies!
So many quotable lines
"What do you think you're doing? That's Rollergirl!!"

So far PTA is 3/3 for me (having watched The Master and TWBB).

Still need to watch Magnolia and Punch Drunk Love.

Those two are definitely my least favorites, but still very good, of course. I need to re-watch Magnolia, though.

I'm the biggest punch drunk love defender on this site. Only movie I watched twice in two days. Watch it. Then watch the superman theory YouTube. Do not watch YouTube beofre the movie. U may hate it many have. But it's worth watching. Much more complete that most movies he's done

I'm actually excited to see Punch-Drunk Love... When I get around to it , that is

I'm really interested to see Adam Sandler under the wing of PTA.

That punch drunk love superman theory blew my mind.. Definitely need to watch it again

As soon as I saw Dub's post I googled that and read it but didn't go to youtube. I dunno I didn't find it interesting, maybe cuz I don't care for Superman much.

I'll have to re-watch the movie and then check the youtube analysis to see if I feel differently.

I recall not hating the movie but not loving it either. It wasn't forgettable but not something I'd go back to watch again or stop and check out if I saw it in real life.

Finally got around to watching Mud. I enjoyed it a lot. McConaughey was solid, and the kid who played Ellis was awesome too.

Love what McConaughey has been up to. Really looking forward to his role in WoWS and Dallas Buyers Club.

Rosario does work in Trance? :nerd: Well now....

Yeah, I sat thru Pain and Gain last night. As said, was different than I thought. They made Rock look like a soft wuss in the previews, um, no.

Marky was off his rocker, and I loved Fat Amy and Mackie.

It wasn't great, but it was watchable. Bay in Miami is always cool, but honestly it just made me wish I was watchin Bad Boys again. I remember Bad Boys blowing me away the first time I watched it, I laughed so freakin hard durin that movie. This one tries, but not quiet the same feel.

Either way, funny story, worth the 2 hours, but I wouldn't go to the theater for it or anything. Like a decent little 7/10 type, popcorn, some laughs, etc.

Edit
Ok, just looked up info on Trance, Rosario......ok then. Blu Ray is shall be. :pimp:

Ashton Kutcher actually played Jobs well.... he had the walk down, mannerisms, all that. I didn't know Steve Jobs was an ******* like that. At least, he had to be, they wouldn't have just thrown in that dialogue for no reason and curve people's view.

My issue with the film was this.

None of the other characters were likable. It was seriously like the director found all the dispensable actors in movies you've seen over the years, people you instantly forgot about once you left the theater, and threw them in this movie.

I mean... Josh Gad? Come on. I don't care if his character has a bad ending. Actually, I hope for it.

Dermot Mulroney? The guy that played Gavin on Friends?

Lukas Has. Who likes that guy?

The boss in the newsroom from the Tobey Maguire Spiderman movies. Who likes that guy? :smh:

Matthew Modine?

They didn't round back to the beginning, they ended it weirdly, some random moments where you were like, "Why...? Why was that important?". There would be like 10 minutes I thought were really well done (like Kutcher walking through the computer fair and then giving the presentation), and then 40 minutes of stuff I could easily pick apart.

My biggest takeaway is Kutcher's solid performance as Steve Jobs. He was a miscast because he just doesn't exude what you have in your mind, however you can tell he worked his *** off and really learned everything about the man Steve Jobs. And that I can give props for.

Kinda looking forward to it :pimp:

 this is being discussed in three separate threads. The specific movie thread, the slightly broader comic book movie thread, and then it'll get coverage here too.

Not complaining, just pointing it out
