Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Yeah it's been happening for years now. Specifically for actors just out of their prime. The new crop is taking over mainly. These older guys will only come back in movies to play fathers, father figures, wise old men, or the old bad guy. Same thing happens to actresses except it's much more quicker for the ones on top mainly for their looks.

I think what you're noticing is that the main names you grew up with are now doing it cuz when you were younger these guys were the stars and now they're not anymore.

Checked out Trance because of this thread.:nthat: Need to watch it again as I was confused about some scenes as my attention wasn't 100% on the film. Fairly complex story line. Wasn't expecting that much of Rosario.

All the best new writers are starting at or heading to television too. It's great as an actor to know your going to a television show were the creator/writer has a complete vision.

Absolutely stoked, found a Blu Ray copy of Warrior for 8 bucks last night. :pimp: Every time I checked for it it was 24+ and no way I was payin that.

Can't wait to check it again.

For those who hadn't seen the mystery preview clip for Stranger.

Short blonde hair for Kate? I'm already there.

Really? Hes old school 80's...

Hell if robert downey jr can ressurect his career so can spader... Doesbt he habe a new show out too?

To me Spader's career never got bad where he needed to resurrect it. He just stopped taking on as much work.

There's a high chance of probablility RDJR ad libs something about Less Than Zero for sure

Eww NobleKane... :smh:

Yes, Spader does have a new show coming on NBC called Blacklist

He's always been a solid possibly underrated actor but I just can't see his voice as Ultron... I'm assuming their using his voice that is because Ultron is a super robot created by Hank Pym (aka aliases Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Goliath, Yellowjacket, & Wasp...)

Just saw The World's End and loved it. Laughed throughout the whole movie, but had actual story and characters beneath the laughs. I went in with high expectations and they were met.

^^Yea, I loved The World's End.

Mad I didn't get to see Bill Murray on Letterman last night (damn Time Warner and CBS), they are always fantastic together.

Watched Smashed last night (On Starz Demand) and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed watching a movie about alcoholism that wasn't completely depressing and Winstead was delightful. I used to think she was just another cute face without much else but after this and loving the film Scott Pilgrim, I'm a fan.

Also watched The Muppets a couple days ago (also on Starz Demand) and I thought it was well done and pretty damn funny. I grew up a huge Muppets fan so it was good to see the whole gang back together and seems like a fantastic film for parents and their children to watch together.

I threw on Superbad the other night for the first time in a long while. It holds up. Still very funny, IMO. Almost everything Cera says in that movie makes me laugh. And Hader and Rogen are great as the cops. Just a good, good comedy.

Saw Man on a Ledge again. I like a good flick where he/she proves their innocence. Pretty good cast. Genesis Rodriguez is a sexy mamacita. Looks like Tina Fey.

Great comedy def try to watch it every time it's on. Pineapple Express had that potential but that last half hour became too much. Still a great comedy as well, just the tier below.

High expectations. And they were met? That's pretty amazing.

Good to here I like pegg

Considering how good the first two movies in their "trilogy" were (Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) I was worried that this one wouldn't live up... But it did.

I don't like hot fuzz anywhere near the same leveI as shawn. That's actually low key one of my face movies and spaced is one of my fav shows.

Didn't like the Seth Rosen alien movie too much. The fatboy run movie was much better

actually might just watch hot fuzz again this weekend

So, Drinking Buddies...good people, boring movie so far. Only about 40 minutes in, but if it doesn't pick up, I may turn it off.

Hard to believe a movie with Anna Kendrick and Olivia Wilde can be putting me to sleep.
