New Tarantino movie!? :D :smokin Cant wait already.


Saw Catching Fire last Friday. Liked it a lot more than expected; J Law was great, Woody Harrelson was great, Jeffery Wright, it was all great. The pacing was pretty good too. I didnt even realize 2 hours had passed when the movie ended. I cant wait for the next one, and this is coming from someone who wrote off the first one as a bubblegum remake of Battle Royale. Need to go back and actually watch it now :lol:

Oh and that JLaw gif 8) But Chrome better not auto-load this page again after I close my browser. The last time y'all posted pictures of actresses I got questioned by my girlfriend for 10 minutes (Not the best way for her to find out about NT :smh: ). "What was that website you had up that had a bunch of girls on it?" Almost had a panic attack :smh:

'Fight Club' producer Arnon Milchan: I helped Israeli spy agency

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan confirmed what has been rumored for decades -- that he secretly helped Israel develop its nuclear weapons program.

Milchan, who has produced dozens of major movies and worked with the biggest stars, worked for Israel's now-defunct spy unit Bureau of Scientific Relations, he told Israeli television's Uvda "Fact 14" show.

A 2011 book detailed Milchan's secret work, but until now he has not talked openly about his life of espionage.

Milchan, whose films include "Fight Club," "Pretty Woman," and "L.A. Confidential," set up and operated dozens of companies that helped Israel obtain parts and plans for its nuclear project in the 1980s, he said.

"I did it for my country and I'm proud of it," Milchan told interviewer Ilana Dayan in a report aired this week.

His spy work was a rumor in the 1980s when Milchan was producing movies, including "The King of Comedy" and "Once Upon a Time in America" with actor Robert De Niro.

De Niro sat with Milchan for an interview with Dayan for the show. He said he suspected something about the producer's "ventures" decades ago, but "I wasn't sure."

He didn't question his producer about the rumors because "it wasn't my business," he said. "He didn't ask me certain things and I don't ask him. "

Milchan: 'Wow! The action! That was exciting'
Milchan -- born in 1944 in what was then Palestine -- was a successful young businessman in the United States when his friend Shimon Peres -- who later became Israel's prime minister -- recruited him to help after the 1973 Yom Kippur War, the Uvda report said.

Israeli spy officials used bank accounts set up by Milchan to make weapons-related purchases around the world, including helicopters and missiles, the report said.

"Do you know what it was like to be a 20-something guy whose country decided to let him be James Bond? Wow! The action! That was exciting," Milchan told Dayan.
Milchan told how he convinced a German engineer to let him photograph plans for a nuclear facility.

When the FBI discovered one of his companies was used to ship nuclear triggers to Israel without proper licenses, it resulted in the 1985 indictment of an executive who was involved. Charges against Milchan were dropped by the Reagan administration.

"I didn't know Israel ordered the triggers," Milchan told Dayan. "I didn't even know what triggers were."

He also acknowledged helping the government of South Africa with public relations when it was under intense international criticism and sanctions because of its apartheid system. His help was in exchange for uranium supplied to Israel from South Africa, he said.

Director Sidney Pollack, whose films included "Tootsie" and "Out of Africa," was "my partner in export in aerospace, planes, all kinds of things, with license," Milchan said. "He had to decide what he was willing and what he was not. On many things he said 'No.' Many things he said 'Yes.' "

Milchan is a multi-billionaire, but he insisted that he never profited from his spy work.

I felt the same way about Catching Fire, Noskey... just a ton to like about the movie and it seemed like they expanded on the more interesting and deeper themes of the franchise. I was really impressed.

I don't get the jlaw hype personally. Average looks as far as movie stars go. She does seem chili from the interviews I've seen. She doesn't boher me at all but I don't get excited if I see her name in a cast.

.....and at first I just meant that on the level of who were the better illusionists/magicians cuz Eisenheim pulled off the better feats but as things went on and coming to the end this movie rounded out quite well and is very good where it's not as far behind as most ppl would think.

I don't know what happened at the time but I vividly recall the commercials for both movies back in '06 but for some reason I only saw The Prestige and that became one of my fav flicks from Nolan, and in general. Somehow I forgot about The Illusionist. I'd say The Prestige just has the edge on the amount of great actors and to that I'd say Sewell does his thing as the Crown Prince. Things would've evened out if Marsan had a bigger role as manager. As for the females despite liking ScarJo much more I'll call it a wash to avoid arguments with the Biel lovers.

Just finished watching Illuionist and I have to disagree bruh. I personally feel the prestige is one of the GOAT's with that crazy twist and the Illuionist is a awesome in its own right but the movie wasn't as well out together as the prestige imo

I was thinking about finally getting a Blu-ray player yesterday/today/Monday. The Sony one with Wi-Fi that is everywhere for $54.99.

I can't get myself to leave family on a holiday to go spend money, regardless of the deal. I get it, but just not for me.

That said, I got some pretty good deals throughout the week online. Will post a recap of my findings in the morning.

It has been long-rumored that the writer/director wants to adapt "Forty Lashes Less One," a novel with a story that sounds just like a Tarantino movie. The book follows two characters: a disgraced, black Union soldier and a half-breed Apache man, who are released from prison to hunt down the five most-wanted outlaws in Arizona.

The MPAA has had a chance to weigh in on director Martin Scorsese’s latest film, and on first-look they warned the filmmaker that The Wolf of Wall Street was destined for an NC-17 rating. THR reports that Scorsese “agreed to trim certain scenes of nudity and sex” in order to guarantee an R-rating for the darkly comic drama, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a hard-partying, drug-addicted stockbroker in the 1990s. Rumors had been swirling for months that Scorsese’s no-holds-barred film ventured well into NC-17 territory, but it appears that he and Paramount Pictures have made some edits in order to ensure that the pic can be seen by wide audiences. No doubt excessive violence is still A-OK for the MPAA, just as long as no one’s naked—the horror!
Additionally, THR confirms that the runtime of The Wolf of Wall Street is 2 hours and 59 minutes, which officially makes this Scorsese’s longest film ever, besting Casino by one minute. Nearly three hours of Scorsese doing dark comedy? Now that’s something to be thankful for. The film opens nationwide Christmas Day.

Prolly ordered around 20-25 blus this week alone off amazon haha. Also watched The To Do List the other night it was pretty funny.
 
I keep catching Chasing Mavericks with Gerry Butler about Jay Moriarity's life... It's a decent film & I keep watching it whenever it's on...
