I took my nephew and my nieces to see this on a "real" IMAX screen when it came out. I think I was more geeked out during the Optimus forest fight scene and Jetfire giving him his parts, than they were.
Finally got to see Transcendence
. Hard for me to say that it was an interesting story, because it's a rehash of a lot of sci-fi tropes in film/ tv/ short stories. The main fault is that the film is just straight boring. I usually don't like films that always take place in a metropolitan city, but if the premise is how A.I. and nano technology can change the world, you have to show me the effect it has on the general population. 90% of the film takes place in a desert or a data center. Also seems like everyone mailed in their performance with exception to Rebecca Hall.
And on a side note, kind of ironic that while Wally Pfister (the director) is such a proponent of shooting in film, with post and CGI, the movie looked extremely "glossy."
