Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Just finished Children Of Men

Cuaron is a genius, what a beautiful looking movie.

The one shots :wow: :pimp:

All these years, I still haven't seen Children of Men. That's Clive Owen, right? Monica Belluci, etc.

  Can't Wait for Orphan Black

the trailer for that 300 movie looks horrible, like SY-FY Channel bad.  It's not a movie i'd watch to begin with but man

Do it, Clive is good but it's more about the movie overall especially production design/cinematography/editing

gonna watch The Great Beauty tomorrow.  It's nominated in the Best Foreign Film category on Sunday

Just finished watching Kill Your Darlings. It was okay, but character development was pretty weak.

there's a 9 minute long take when Clive leaves the refugee's house, amazing to say the lwast. everyone concentrates on the car scene which is like 3.5 minutes but Children of Men is my favourite

I don't really like watching movies over again. I mean, if it's on cable and I'm lazy, sure. Or if it's been a really long time. The rare flick like Step Brothers, Django, The Raid, Fast Five, Inception, Deathproof...you kinda get what type of movie plays back easy for me. Well this is a big idea, serious film, that's pretty damn bleak and harsh. And it's long, and withdrawn, and paced out. The type of movie that stays getting skipped on your Netflix queue. The exact kinda movie you watch one time, and you're probably good on it for life.

But Cuaron kills it so completely. Every scene. I mean...the less you know about the film, the better. Michael Caine was awesome. Chiwetel was great. My favorite Julianne Moore. Best Clive ever was. Best movie the year it came out. Better than V for Vendetta...Departed...Pan's Labyrinth. It's probably the best sci-fi movie of the last decade? Great opening scene, great closing scene, great characters, great ideas, great action scenes, clever everything. The moments they hit on...in such a matter of fact way...are so damn good.

Every single time you watch the film, you find new things they painted into the seams. The more you watch it, the more you appreciate it, the better it gets. It's the type of film, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on the AFI 100 one day, but at the same time...it's like TDK for me. If it's on, I'm at least catching some of it.

And there's no real overhyping this movie. If it's for you, it's game over already. And that's why just hearing Cuaron had a new flick coming, my ticket been bought.

I heard its crazy boring and bland. Is their a scene with him getting crucified?
Didn't make it. After the sixth miracle in a row I was done. It was more of a Jesus Highlight reel than a movie.  The storyline was terrible. However, the cinematography was pretty good, the acting was above average, but over all, the screenplay was terrible.

Long story short, I have my $6.75 donation, I'm good for the week.

Wow yall really loved Children of Men. I might have to watch it again cuz I found it extremely boring.

 @ still complaining about the title. Almost thought he was talking about Venom's post or something about Non-Stop.

I don't even read the full title anymore. I just be sure I see the thread I'm clicking on starts with "Oh" or at least the first 3 words.

Thats a good enough endorsement for me, will check it out

Catching Thor-Dark World tonight. I like it. Not blowing me away, but entertaining. Feels like a mash-up of Star Trek, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, which I'm ok with. It works.

basically that.

Its hard for me to really not like a movie or find it not entertaining, and this is not a movie I can say didn't entertain me.
