Eh. Live and let live.
See...I edited it, cuz I thought...yaknow what...someone'll like his posts, it's w/e, he's easy to ignore. But yall just wanna respond to him. :smh:

He has some kinda narcissistic need to tell everyone. That's it. Tell them what? Nothing really. Why? Just cuz. Who? No one in particular. But he NEEDS to tell them, cuz they don't know, and he does.

am1, I have no ******* clue what you get out of NT in general, and this thread in particular, but you need to stop posting in here, if everything everyone says is always offensive or sheepish or oppressive to you for no reason in particular. It's annoying. And don't say "just block me," cuz now people are quoting your nonsense. This thread is a conversation and you treat it like the worst twitter indirects.

Man...idk how you can say any of them are better than the others. Ill say I was prolly the worst, but still damn good movie. Star Wars is way to dope a series, hope it never ends. 2031 Episode XIv

Friday Night Lights really that good? I know my guy MBJ was on there

MBJ comes later, like season 4 I think, but yes, the show is fantastic. If you played football, you will "feel" this show.

Great characters, really well done, way more than just a football show. So much more.

And Minka Kelly, so.....

Cars 3 better redeem the failure that was Cars 2.

Theres no way they can mess up the Incredibles though, absolutely none.

The Star Wars prequels were better than the OGs, but thats not saying much Star Wars is bad to me I dont understand how it became what is is.
I know, right? Cars 2 was...

... wait...

FNL's did improve and ended so damn strong.. but I'm surprised the first season was rated so low. I loved the first season.

It's funny, but the DirecTV deal not only saved the show from being cancelled, but might have improved the quality due to a shortened season. That's one of the advantages of cable shows, 12-13 episodes rather than an extended 22-24 like on network shows means you can't waste any time and you need to make the episodes count.

Season 1 of FNL was great, but I could definitely see it being better if they shortened it a bit.

And yes, FNL is absolutely worth the watch, one of the best dramas of the last ten years. If you're not a football fan, you'll still like it. If you're a football fan, you'll still like the family/relationship/etc., drama. My mom and I both watched it and we both enjoy/looked for vastly different things from TV shows.

the simpsons seasons 1 - 10 GOAT. IDC IDC IDC. damn shame what that show has become :smh:

Okay...since I'm probably the only one who's seen the original A New Hope, kinda for the first time recently....I can sorta see where Dope is coming from?

I mean morally...and...critical thinking wise...he's wrong. But if you've sorta internalized that SW is basically bs, and the new ones' lightsaber fights and effects are really fresh to you...I could see how someone who doesn't care for any of them would say, the podracer scenes, Darth Maul fight, and some parts of Revenge of the Sith are more enjoyable than---Nah, I can't.

I mean, I still gotta watch Empire Strikes Back, but I can't defend those ******* prequels. I remember those movies. :smh:

Bout to get stoned and watch Cloverfield for the first time (don't know how I missed it, usually catch anything Abrams is involved in) to get ready for Godzilla soon

You guys got any other dope monster flicks?

It took a while, but our fears about this thread being moved to General are finally being realized. Damn you, DBD, wherever you are.

I did in fact see the new ones first and I didnt want to say it because the reasoning seems childish, but the fact that the new ones had the technology to make everything seem more "SPACEY" gives it an edge. Especially the lightsaber fights, in the old one they are literally just standing still swining the lightstabers....

The story was just bland and boring which is really the killer of it all. Without all the extra stuff to take your attention away from it what are you left with? Plus being that I'm so young in comparison to that movie I saw the most important scene in the old movies (Luke I am your father) parodied so much, that when it did happen it had zero shock value.

  This made me laugh.

But since you brought it up.... UNBAN DO BE DOO!!!!!!

Star Wars really has to be ingested as early as possible.. without as little outside influence on the viewer. You could have seen it as a kid, teenager, adult, when they originally came out... or you could have seen it as a younger kid in the 90s before all the prequels came out and you'd be good.

But if you see it in your 20s... after all the prequels... after Robot Chicken and Family Guy and the millions of parodies and references? Yeah... it's just not going to be the same.

Too much has happened since they came out for it to carry the same kind of weight.

I hear you Antidope, this always happens to me whenever I see a "classic" movie after it's time passes
Pop culture references ruin the novelty / obsolete special effects are glaring/ or just not aging well
That's why there's a ton of highly-touted movies that i will never watch

Friday Night Lights love :pimp:

One of my ALL TIME favorite shows.
So awesome.
And I've never played organized football in my life.

MBJ :pimp:
Riggins :pimp:
Saracen for a little while :pimp:
Landry :pimp: (or should I say, Lance  )

Soooo many great characters.
So many great story lines every season.
Such a great and satisfying start and finish to the show.

I was so grateful DirecTV saved the show. I hated seeing it have such low ratings :smh:

I never understood why the public didn't give
It a chance.

But it was awesome how much power the true fans had, as well of the positive influence of the reviews.

They need to blu ray it already :smh:

damn shame what that show has become :smh:

Kind of unfair to say that, don't you think? The started in the late 80s. Think about that. Its been on for parts of 4 decades now. Most TV shows these days are exceptional if they even have 5 season of quality shows. Sure, it would be great if the Simpsons' team could still crank out the kind of quality shows they were producing in the early 90s. But I don't think its a "shame" they can't. It was an inevitability.

It's the same as saying The Godfather sucks because they drive old cars and have crappy pistols. :rolleyes That's just plain lazy, and ill informed.

Star Wars A New Hope was pulled from thin air. A true origin story of worlds no one could even begin to imagine.

The OG trilogy is based on dialogue, not flashy lightbulbs and shiny things to keep the attention of the mindless.

Everything, EVERYTHING from those OG's has been incorporated over time into other things. Just because it is joked, and stolen from, and parodied over and over and over makes it no less great. That's like saying that kids that grew up in the early 80's should not have feared Freddy, or Jason, or Michael Myers, because now they are mocked to the nth degree. :smh:

Revenge of the Sith is very well done, but still missing a huge portion of what should have been. Anyone who doesn't see that is simply blind to the decades of build up. Anakin Skywalker was a HUGE storyline, in that he was Darth Vader, and he was reduced to being a hero for the republic, to killing ******* KIDS in less than 20 minutes. Sith was better than Menace and Clones, but still left MUCH to be desired.

Lucas still had flashes of greatness in the prequels, for instance Darth Maul, but he couldn't put together 2 hour movies anymore like the OG's.

And I haven't even spoke on Empire Strikes Back yet, quite possibly one of the most perfect films ever created and a true upgrade from the original, which is a marvel given how amazing the first Star Wars even was.
