Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I'll give the Korean version a watch tonight, are parts of it in Korean? If so are there subs during those scenes?

I just found out recently, I'm basically the only person on the planet who like You, Me, and Dupree

That's the one with Owen Wilson and Matt Dillon, right? I enjoyed it. Wasn't a masterpiece or anything, but good for a few laughs.

Me, Myself and Irene is so ******* funny. That movie still cracks me up. Jim Carrey was unreal in that movie.
Carey was 1987 MJ in that film. Utterly brilliant. Switching back and forth between Hank and Charlie, his quotes, facial work, his body movements like sliding down the car. Perfection.

His sons, ******, Anna Kournikova cameo, whale blubber, Jose Canseco lookin bad guy, even Renee killed it in that movie.

Me, Myself & Irene was the kinda movie, I caught on TV, bought asap and was the only thing I wanted to watch for like a month. That was Superbad and Step Bros to me back then. So damn funny.

"So...your kids kinda have a...year round tan."

The Master next.
Yes.

Picked up Wolf on Blu today, probably will watch it again over the weekend :pimp:

Literally, just finished watching Wolf. I was worried about checking it again, cuz I loved seeing it in theaters. The crowd lost their **** in waves. It was some people who loved soaking up the ****** up things they did, and the others who were just in nervous-shock by the whole damn thing. But it held up...it was just as hilarious. Leo killed it so hard, Naomi was everything, and Donnie was still comedy. :smokin

I could tell this time around, what people meant when they said it was just too long. And it sorta highlighted a big weakness in the film...cuz I remember people trying to say it wasn't about anything or that it condoned that behavior. No. They just made up their minds before they even saw it. But it really didn't do a great job on the stock market side of things. Especially when you compare to Wolf aced the comedy and the characters and the dialogue and the memorable scenes. But it just kinda skimmed on the actual stock work.

They could've just called this A-holes with Money or Wolf of the Hamptons or Jackpot Jerkoffs. I mean Steve Madden? Emotionally and thematically, everything hit in the film...storytelling-wise, they didn't really connect with the story about stockbrokers. They had all those people going savage in the offices, but there really was a complete disconnect from what it is they were actually doing, and any of the real world consequences of it all.

And I get that whole "well Jordan and them were oblivious to it all." Okay...but we weren't...and Kyle Chandler and Margot Robbie and the girl who got her head shaved and his ex-wife and the stewardess and the cops and his dad all existed in this movie. Not explaining his victims better makes it not matter that he got caught for anything. It makes his only real crime, getting high too much...oh and that one time he boosted a stock price. It makes it feel like he got punished for that last scene with Naomi and only caring about himself. It makes it not matter to today.

Wolf is a really funny movie, and it's got a lot more substance and just...meat on the bones than a American Hustle, but man do I wanna see that 4-hr cut, to see if what I was missing was in there. Also if it's just an extra hour of Donnie and Naomi, that's cool too. It's still my favorite movie of last year.

Yeah son, the BBQ scene and the cop comes to talk to him. Jim is like "yeah, well my grandmother is half italian"

YOOOOO!!! The Lego Movie!!! YES, YES, YEEESSS!!! :D

My son... was freaking... DYING!!! How a dude fall UP a hole? "Daddy, he fell up! bahaha Did you see?! He did it again. How does he keep falling up? "

Nah, I'm not gonna spoil it, but that flick is SOLID.

And FINALLY... a kids movie free of sexual innuendos. Or at least, there was nothing me & my girl caught. I'm sure somewhere along the way, we'll be disappointed to learn some dildo was drawn in the background of some scene or something, but in the initial viewing tonight, just good, clean fun, as every kids movie should be.

But for the adults, the movie is TEEMING w/ satire. :smokin

Rush was a phenominal movie. Ron Howard did any amazing job as director. Thor and the other lead played their polar opposite characters yet motivated by the same things brilliantly. Definite watch.

Loved Rush, Ron Howard The God.

Hemsworth was great, never liked him anything before this.

Daniel Bruhl was even better though, really impressed by his performance.

Anything with Olivia Wilde is easy on the eyes.

Snowpeircer. Surprisingly dark, suprisingly violent. As far as dystopian futures, this paints a pretty dim tale. Acting was good. Not great but good. They used the environment well, like the train itself was a character in the story, the way it was divided, the people in each section. It's a stark warning about global warning and classism. Overall, I'd watch again, maybe with a republican friend.

Side note: Tilda Swinton is quickly becoming a favorite female character actor. I liked her in Moonrise kingdom she also has a vampire movie with Loki, Only Lovers Left, that's making its rounds at 'indie theaters' I might go see.

just came back from an a d v a n c e d screening of " A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST" directed by seth mcfarlane. I think everyone should see this movie. Not two minutes passed I didn't laugh. A huge amount of caemos, good acting and a few family guy type situations. Never heard of it until tonight but look it up and see it may 30th.

It was weird even when it first happened (funny too, but weird). Damon must be friends with the director of that movie or something.

The film is really a social commentary on keeping people in order and their proper place in society.

I have 0 interest in the film. The trailer looks stupid and I don't like Seth or his style of comedy funny at all. I know poeple love him but I can't stand that style

yes a few, the version with subs isn't out from my looking, but they aren't really vital. you can get the idea of what's going on without understanding. 95% of the film is in English

Ehh not to exciting. Will see out of respect for director and characters, but they look to gritty for me. We will see though.

wait wait wait....you'll see it BECAUSE Michael Bay produced the film (that's what I'm assuming you implied by saying director, since Jonathan Liebesman is the director and no one would see a film bc of him)...Michael Bay's recent track record has been gooooooooooood awful

Jesus Christ...
I don't think they'll ever do TMNT justice again in my life time.

How is it possible that with all the money, technology, and resources available these days they still can't recreate the genuine aura of the OG TMNT Live action flicks.

I just don't get it man.

Don't wanna give a complete judgment until the movies out but this trailer makes a complete mockery of what TMNT is supposed to be about.

I hope I'm being misled and the movie ends up being great. I really hope I'm wrong :smh:
