Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Audrey Hepburn singing Moon River gets me every time. Would've gladly held her hand.

LA is awesome Lawdog. I need to get back out there.

That's it, I'm moving to LA.

Greatest place ever. Was in Target today - yes Target - and saw a smoking hot girl wearing super short Daisy Dukes; ***** hanging out everywhere. Stared hard as %#^* - no damns given. (No, my wife was not with me). Anyway, I love LA.
That's not an endorsement for LA. That can happen anywhere

I was waiting for you to name drop a celeb in Target wearing that  Like Alison Brie or Alice Eve.

Challenge accepted. I once saw Alli Larter at a Burrito place here. Anything is possible.

Oh yea well i once rode a grey hound with Mo' Thugs(not bone thugs this was their other group) from Bakersfield to Denver. Herb was def put in the air, I was impressed with their bravery.

I believe it. I have some Greyhound stories myself. Not with celebs though. More convicts, crackheads and crazy people, but still...

Im late but I finally got around to watching Man of Steel.
Ill admit im more of a batman fan, but the product placement was OD to the point that I couldnt even enjoy the movie.

She's incredible. I've been meaning to rewatch Roman Holiday because she's just about perfect in that.

American Hustle

This movie was not only nominated, but won awards.

Sasha Vujacic :smh:

I forgot what we were talking about, but my co-worker and I got to the topic of Josh Brolin and she said, "oh is that the kid from Goonies?" and I said, "probably, never seen it."

Anyways, she called me out and revoked my "movie fan card," so I gotta sit through it this afternoon. This [expletive] better be good.

On a side note, the more trailers I see, the more I feel that Transcendence will bomb. It looks no better than Source Code or The Adjustment Bureau, but those films were in made on a $30 and $50 mil production budget, respectively. I hope I'm wrong because I'm a Wally Pfister fan boy, but even I have to admit, I'm going to have to force myself to watch this in the theaters.

Woke up and I was still mad about American Hustle. What is that even about?
Your reaction is why I haven't watched it nor would unless I want to stare at some chesticles. From the first trailer I saw, I knew the movie would be mediocre.

The idea for Transcendence is really interesting, but I could see them failing to execute that concept correctly.

All this CGI is annoying. Give me some grainy looking flick with a great script that looks like it was shot on an iPhone at this point. Something different.

I really want to ask for a true critic of American Hustle cuz I loved it and seriously don't get the hate. Acting: good, story: good, production: good. From the manic Bradley Cooper, to the 'trying to hold it together' Christian Bale. As a dude that normally catches all the little turns in a movie, the final con caught me off guard. Hell, even Robert Deniro cameo.

But to each his own...

The older I get the less I take in others opinions about movies as far as whether I'm going to watch it or not.

I loved American Hustle.

Man I really love Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

I don't know what it is, but this was the best SNL skit I've seen in a good while.

...

And I checked out All is Lost, the Robert Redford on a boat flick. Not bad. It's like a lo-fi 127 Hours meets Captain Phillips, with a little Life of Pi here and there. It almost felt like a documentary. Def a watch it 1 time thing, but it wasn't bad for a movie with no dialogue. Redford did his thing.

i want to see this. Dave Franco's Robert Dinero

Just caught the tailend of it, but if there's a more inspiring and emotional sports film than Rudy please let me know. The last 15 min. always gets me choked up. :frown:

I'm sorry but white ppl must've had the best rose colored glasses in the 60s. Breakfast At Tiffany's is about a salacious ***** that ends up falling in love with a super simp. Story was so wild for me. She out here tricking crazy while teasing this dude, and wow at his situation, got his own sugar momma for his writing. She straight up treating him like he a ho. The movie was good but I just leaned to watching and analyzing it instead of just watching and 100% enjoying. As the story progressed I could see how movies like Pretty Woman and 500 Days of Summer clearly have B@T DNA in them

The movie does have this serenity and calmness about it the way the tone and setting is established. Made it hard for me to believe the city was ever like that but again rose colored glasses >D

Hepburn and Peppard did their thing, convincing roles. Rooney though :smh: After watching I actually came across an article saying he finally said he regretted that role before he died.

Story wasn't good. This was admitted when he let actors improv unscripted scenes that changed the story and when told by the actors themselves this completely changes the story he says he doesn't care he's all about character development. Now some may think that's cool but it kinda just showed a lack of discipline to me for a director. I love me some good character development and insight but there has to be a balance with the story.

It fell flat for me after I watched but the more I learn about the behind the scenes now the more disappointed I am overall I actually watched it.

Anyway, I'm sure you could google plenty "true" critiques of AH and get a bunch of good ones telling you why it's not that good and not worthy of any award nominations outside of like two cuz of the performances by the actors but hey if you loved it, you loved it. You've seen enough opposing views on NT for you to have some idea why ppl don't like it at all.

Bradley Cooper made the movie
I remember when I said he arguably was the best actor in it cuz of his performance and got the stones thrown at me for ppl to praise JLa of all ppl. Bale did his thing but nothing new. Adams was stellar which was great but is also becoming something to expect from her. Cooper climbed that letter to greatness again but I dunno maybe that's cuz he doesn't do it a lot or doesn't have the role in a movie to even do it enough that I was once again impressed by it.
