Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Cuba Goodings Deon Sanders dance in Jerry McGuire really pisses me off, it was atrocious. A real method actor like Daniel Day or Matt Mc would have killed it.

^ I'm looking forward to that movie but what an awful trailer & use of Charles Aznavour's "She". I had to stop watching it... Song was so misplaced... WTF?!?! Whose ever decision it was to use that in the trailer should never work in the film industry again. That person needs to be relegated to working at Walmart stocking shelves for the rest of his or her life.

Looking forward to the Ben Affleck-Gone Girl. Didnt see anything wrong with the trailer. Or maybe I don't think too much into certain trailer......still going to wait to watch on DVD.

No more Anime live action movies :smh: Dragonball and Avatar forever closed the door on that.

I'd love to do a live action DBZ movie. So much allegory and potential in that universe.
I dont think they could ever do it right. Theres too much going on to try and stuff into a two hour movie. They skipped so much of book one of Avatar just to make that terrible movie.

I also dont think any movie studio is willing to spend the amount of money it would take to make a DBZ movie work with all the CGI they would need knowing that it has such a high chance of flopping.

I agree theres so much potential for them to be great, but I dont think anyone will ever put the necessary amount of effort in

Watched that trailer. Someone who read the book through whether he killed her or not in a spoiler so I can decide if I want to see it.

My kids loved the Avatar movie.
i think it gets too much hate. you cant fit 20 full episodes in a 2 hour flick. Its good enough for the intended audience (cartoon was rated y-7 so im talking about 7-10 year olds).

I picked this up today. It was one of my favorite movies from last year. I thought the packaging was unique so I figured I would share a few pics.

Fincher is no longer doing the Jobs film. His rule was no Bale = no movie.

Hans Zimmer is going to score Batman vs Superman...obviously.

New Leo movie sounds interesting.

Good chance Fincher okayed that trailer if not did it himself.

I probably won't watch cuz I saw Tyler Perry in it.

From the Winter Soldier thread

Finally got to see it today.. really, really liked it.

Not much to say that hasn't been said already.. but the action was done really well, Evans held his own, Scarlett delivered, I could have used more Anthony Mackie but he was solid as well. The material definitely felt relevant and important for today's audience, the cost of freedom, monitoring and going after threats before they're even threats, etc. really loved the storyline. Winter Soldier was a great villain as well. I know it's been discussed, but one of the faults of Marvel Studios has been weak or non-memorable villains outside of Loki. Winter Soldier was impressive and him remembering Cap managed not to be cheesy or overly sentimental.

Loved the Abed cameo

Definitely #2 behind Iron Man for best non-Avengers Marvel film.

Got excused from jury duty because I didn't live in that county anymore  I figured that would happen but I didn't get to mail in my "excuse form" in time so I still had to drive all the way downtown, hit traffic, was late, waited like 20 minutes through security. Took 5 minutes to find a seat, finally found one.. only to be excused 5 minutes later. When she told me I did the Kobe fist pump and said "YESSS!!" loudly. Then I diddy bopped out of there. Went to the outlet stores.. except they didn't ******* open for an hour. Then I had Taco Bell's breakfast. Went to the outlets and bought my first pair of sneakers in forever, then on my way back I decided to check the showtimes and it worked out perfectly. And that was my day.

But yeah.. I didn't have any complaints from Cap 2. With that in mind.. I think MrO nailed it in the criticisms. Just needed to be a little tighter, give us a few memorable/quotable lines, give us some moments to point to like the great superhero movies have done. They had some possible scenes, but there wasn't a jaw-dropping "holy ****" moment. Fury's chase was great, the ships crashing was awesome, etc., but yeah. Oh, and I wanted more of Falcon and Crossbones.. but since he survived I'm sure we'll get more of him later. And the credits scene was great even though I already knew about it and saw it on Youtube.. still though :pimp:

Yeah we got a bit cheated with the Falcon-Crossbones fight. He knocks Falcon down and basically tells him he's light work, then building/hellicarrier crushes him

I thought we were about to get a real Batroc type fight with a clear winner.

I was pissed when they cut away as soon as they threw a punch.. but they went back.. only to cut it short again

I know it's a long movie, but I wanted Anthony Mackie to shine

All I kept thinking whenever he was Falcon was the Fallon interview "WE MADE IT! WE MADE IT!" and the Conan interview where he said he and Black Widow were an item

A Note to the Fans of FAST & FURIOUS

The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. It certainly defines how we feel about our fans.

Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.

We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too. Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for FAST & FURIOUS 7, and it’s among the strongest work of his career.

We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.

We are just under a year away from the release of FAST & FURIOUS 7, and this film is the most important we’ve ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O’Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role.

We wanted to take a moment to speak to our fans directly and thank you for the love and support you always show us as we resume our work

Leo needs to hurry up and be in Devil in the White City.

Very difficult book to bring to screen IMO. It was about architecture and the fight for Chicago to be seen as a true big boy city more than the serial killer. And I just think it would be so extremely expensive to recreate the buildings

A good Simpsons episode is like a solar eclipse... But the most recent episode "days of future future" was really good. Check it out

I honestly think disliking the Simpsons is the 'It' thing to do. Longest running sitcom, known as the 'og adult, network cartoon.'

Personally I still love the show, been watching as long as I can remember, week in week out I generally enjoi the show. This episode went to far away from what they do Way to much going on, to many storylines. Plus they've done a future episode...actually two I believe.
