Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I shouldnt have to go into a great deal of detail as to why I dont like X movie everytime but I will keep that in mind as this is not my thread, and it seems like theres an established way of doing things in here.

To be quite honest my reasons for not liking some of those movies is as simplistic as can be:

- I dont like the Godfather because it is boring as hell. I cant even get past an hour of it. I cant say much more than that, it just is boring.

-Maybe I missed something in Pulp Fiction(which I didnt say is a bad movie, just over rated) but it really feels like just a bunch of random stories that arent really tied together at all, its just all over the place.

-Star Wars? The story doesnt move me at all, and the characters all seem vapid to me, especially Luke.

I really dont want any trouble, and I can leave and let you guys have your thread.

^ I repped that too...

(even though I still don't like any of the Spidey movies especially the Raimi ones... Also think Wolf Of Wall St was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over rated)...
Blocked. Wolf of Wall Street is greatness

Clark Kent wearing glasses as a disguise is super dumb, but its a comic book so who really cares. But we all know that it makes no sense that no one recognizes him

I really like me a good foreign flick especially to cleanse my palette from all the schlock Hollywood puts out... I've been waiting to see this trailer. It's currently making the rounds of the film festival circuit...

Yea I think Wolf of Wall St was overrated too.

And I usually lurk this thread but I'm going to start posting more. I know how serious you guys can get sometimes.

This looks like it could be promising - A Disney Animations/Marvel movie... I'd love to see a Pixar/Marvel collabro... That would be orgasmic...

Holy ****, I was just throwing The Godfather out there, you don't like that one either?

Wolf is greatness, but please do come in more often. You can find all kinds of stuff in here at a given time.

I was kinda stunned the other night when the going to movies alone topic came up, we'd never discussed that in here, and I thought for sure we had. It was good to see how others view moviegoing as well.

I'm cool with Antidope having whatever opinion he wants about anything, so long as he doesn't start talking about "the machine" again...

I say that and everyone goes "Did you even watch the movie"? Its been a long time since I watched it so maybe I did miss something.

As long as you all acknowledge its existence I'm cool

I'm in here all the time I just don't post a lot. You guys really are on y'all stuff when it comes to movies. So y'all get major props for that. But I just don't take it as seriously as some of you.

But I will be posting more. As far as Wolf goes it's a very entertaining movie no question. But everybody was hyping it like everybody deserved Oscar nods. I just didn't agree with that. I will go as far to say..,

Leo in Django>>> Leo in Wolf

Of course IMO

Leo in Django>>> Leo in Wolf

Leo in anything is gold really. This isn't anything crazy at all, he was great in both.

Wolf hype was probably more of a push for Leo to finally get an Oscar, as he's been too great, for too long to not have one yet. Someday, he's going to play an unsavory cop with a rookie protege and he'll get the Oscar for THAT role.

But to me, Wolf was amazing. It was Goodfellas, in 2013, without the violence. I sat there for 3 hours completely entertained every second.

^ I agree

What do you guys think of Edward Norton ?

I've come to realize I enjoy almost everything that he's in. The other day I watched "25th hour" for the first time and it really kept my attention the whole time. And of courses serval other movies that he's been in.

All I know is there is no way a grown man can watch Gladiator in high definition (either blu Ray or Netflex... NOT ON TV WITH COMMERCIALS) and not enjoy it.

If Anti gives Gladiator a shot the right way and still says it's "overrated" I'm just gonna be like...

Norton had me forever when I saw Primal Fear. I've never been more stunned in the final 3-4 minutes as I was in that movie. He was brilliant.

And then Rounders, might as well have hall of famed the guy then and there after that 2 for 2 start.

He's a bit of a diva, but he's done stuff that few others can pull off, and he has crazy range. American History X and Primal Fear are just ridiculous ends of a spectrum.

If he was more of a calm dude, he could have the Bale/Leo type every role offered career, or a new movie every other year, somethin like that, and of course, he missed out big on Avengers with his Hulk issue. That could have been big for him, but maybe he didn't really want that type of exposure, I don't know.

Norton is a fantastic actor. Never seen him give a bad performance and some of his work is flat out amazing.

Yea Rounders, American History X and Primal Fear were all dope. :pimp:

His list of movies is actually really good. I didn't know he was a diva tho.

The whole avengers thing did kinda lead me to believe that actually.

 ****, I forgot to even mention Fight Club.

He started off so damn hard, and then fell off the map completely.

Primal Fear
People vs Larry Flynt
Rounders
American History X
Fight Club

All in 3 years.

From 2000 on,

The Score
The Italian Job
Red Dragon
The 25th Hour
Kingdom of Heaven
The Illusionist
Hulk
Pride and Glory

Just a strange, drop off. He's still good in most of these, but the level of the movies for some reason drops off. 4 of his first 5 are walk offs and Larry Flyn was no slouch, but that's Woody's movie by far.

I make no promises.

I saw CP mention fight club in the preview and thought he was going to get mad at the fact that I said that its over rated on Sunday.

But now I just mentioned it agian and hes gonna see it :nerd: :nerd: :nerd:

Man You have to give Gladiator a chance. Crowe was really good in it. I think he won best actor that year.

It's a little long long. But I've watched it several times front to back no problem. Got it on blu ray first chance I got. :pimp:
