Season 3 of eastbound and down was pretty cringe worthy honestly. Season 4 redeemed the series and I hope they leave it alone. The ending was perfect.
 
Watching this now. My friend RAVED about it. Will let you all know how it is. 

 
I can't stand BBT. Worst is when I tell my mom I hate it and she says that the humor is smart and that's why I don't like it :rolleyes :lol:
 
I don't think much of BBT but I don't mind that people like it. It's not like they're saying they liked "Dads" or "Two and A Half Men"
 
It's because the show is a one trick pony that ran its course years ago. Kudos to CBS for running a show about a group of geeks but shame on them for stereotyping the characters and pandering to middle America.
 
Comedy is very subjective. Not everybody find the same things funny. So I'll never knock somebody for not finding something funny. Because we might not have the same sense of humor.

That being said Big Bang Theory is hilarious. :lol:
 
I've caught an episode here or there, mostly because one of my buddies tell me the show is hilarious.. I thought it sucked.

Workaholics is funnier imo

I'd rather watch reruns of Friends than both.

Big Bang theory is to self aware, but not in a good way. It knows its audience will get that elitist thrill from 'being in' on the smart jokes, so it plays to that while simultaneously stereotyping the main characters in just the way we expect 'nerds' to be ie awkward, smart, quirky...but it gets to the point of pandering, and personally I don't like the characters. Sheldon is a jerk because he's smart, and people are ok with that, meaning its ok to be a jerk because you're smart. I've seen a few episodes, I didn't like how they promised 'heart' but when we look a bit deeper at what happened,( imagine if episodes happened in real life), the characters are jerks and its ok. If you like it, cool, I'm not really a fan. And the jokes are to smart, I'm not looking up science to be in on a joke.

ill take my Seinfeld to Big Bang, y'all got it.
 
I talked crap about BBT without ever watching it. I started watching the reruns on tbs and found myself laughing so i'll admit I do enjoy it.

Anyone watch Broad City? Definitely my new favorite comedy of the year. Has that good amount of raunch humor.

I wish people posted in the Orphan Black thread. Last post was over 2 months ago.

The only network sitcom that I can watch right now is New Girl. I've tried Two and Half Men and Big Bang Theory, etc. and just couldn't get into them. I'm not going to knock anyone else for liking them though. Like someone said, comedy is very subjective.

if you dont want to take my word for it, the all knowing all wise, sentinel of all things cinema and television, BIG J watches it.
