Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Big J is a sentinel :nerd: :nerd:

Btw. I give XMEN DOFP a 5/8. Overall a a little above average film, but on the curve of CBM, and the previous xmen installments in particular, it knocked the ball out of the park.

I don't know where to fall on BBT. I really liked it when it started, then somewhere in the 2nd season it just got real generic and repetitive (or maybe it was always like that and it just finally hit me) and I never really enjoyed it again. Like, I like the characters, but it feels like the show is permanently on autopilot.

But it's live and let live. I get what people see in it, and if it's your thing, it's well made and consistent. I'd just never go outta my way to watch it again.

Hawaii 5-0 was my guilty pleasure show when better series weren't on.

But near the end of season 4 it just hit a wall to me... I stopped and haven't looked back.

It was entertaining as hell for the first few seasons, for a casual show of course. But man... It just got...
Idk. Too repetitive.

But I guess most cop shows on major networks get that way. I guess I wasn't built to last through more than 4 seasons of the same formula.

The only network sitcom that I can watch right now is New Girl. I've tried Two and Half Men and Big Bang Theory, etc. and just couldn't get into them. I'm not going to knock anyone else for liking them though. Like someone said, comedy is very subjective.

PARKS & RECREATION.

Parks and rec :pimp:
Now that's one formula i never got tired of. Love it. So happy they're giving it one final season to say farewell the right way.

It's bittersweet. But it's been a fun ride :pimp:

I'll def be watching the series finale with some whiskey and steak... Word to my dude Ron :pimp:

Renner :rolleyes

Hollywood wants so bad for him to be Brad Pitt.

Such a lack of charisma. The guy is so boring to me.

I said it from the second he got cast in the new Bourne:
Did I read somewhere they kind of backed into Renner because everyone else they wanted was either too much a star for the part or refused to read?

That'd make sense. I loved the first one and the third, but that casting feels wrong. Renner would be the bad guy, before he'd be the guy.
He's the bad guy in your big movie, or the ****** up guy in your little movie. He doesn't make for a good straight lead.

Yeah O I remember you agreeing with me before when I complained about Renner.

He's just so horribly miscast to me, so often.

Did anyone even realize he was on Mission impossible ghost protocol? I watched that movie thinking cool, Cruise might be passing the MI baton to someone new... Let's see how Renner does.

COULDNT EVEN REMEMBER HE WAS IN THE MOVIE EVEN 5 MINUTES AFTER IT WAS DONE.

The most forgettable guy in action movie history. What was his purpose? What did he even do? I didn't even remember him speaking.

Bourne... Like you said, straight snoozer with him.

I agree with you, he probably would work better as a villain.
Not enough personality to root for as a lead or protagonist.

He just never makes you care about him as a viewer the same way Pitt, Damon, or even Clooney do.

Yup. Agree completely.

I will say though...his little part in American Hustle was surprisingly good.

Like, he was immediately sympathetic and endearing for the first time since...ever? Hurt Locker?

I enjoyed Renner in Hurt Locker and he was ok in American Hustle but outside of that I usually go through movies he's in totally forgetting about his character. Just doesn't captivate as an actor.

As far as comedies go Nathan For You is the best new tv comedy out. I enjoyed what I saw out of Broad City but I didn't catch the whole season.

Seinfeld is the greatest comedy ever made.

Friends is terrible.
That's why I mentioned Friends. i'd rather watch that then BBT or some of this other crap being mentioned.
I talked crap about BBT without ever watching it. I started watching the reruns on tbs and found myself laughing so i'll admit I do enjoy it.

Anyone watch Broad City? Definitely my new favorite comedy of the year. Has that good amount of raunch humor.

I wish people posted in the Orphan Black thread. Last post was over 2 months ago.
Broad City is hilarious.
CBS has popular shows but doesn't mean they're good.

NCIS is crap too
The majority of stuff on CBS isn't good.

I don't get how NCIS has all these different versions. It's like the bizarro Law & Order.

There's like a handful of shows worth watching on CBS.

Renner in The Town >>>>> any other Renner

And I don't remember him in Ghost Protocol because I only remember Paula Patton from that movie. And I remember it fondly.

How ******* long is this runway in Fast 6? I swear the plane's been gaining speed for like 15 minutes now.
