Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Since I'm out of good shows to watch on Netflix currently (which is aggrevating) I'm rewatching The office.

Seasons 1-4 still had me in tears almost every episode. Classic. Funniest 4 seasons of television I've ever seen (I have not seen Seinfeld).

Seasons 5-6 were okay. Some very funny moments among some very boring episodes.

Season 7 and beyond...
Jesus Christ it's so sad how bad this show fell off :smh:

As a huge fan of the show, it was cringe worthy how bad the show got after the 6th. :x
I don't blame Carrell for not staying in after the 7th, he was smart enough to realize how bad it was about to get.

Although... Some of his movie choices haven't exactly been top notch :smh:
Hopefully Foxcatcher heads him in the right direction

I think the only ep I can catch after season 6 is the one where Michael proposes, his finale and the series finale.

:smh: It was all good til Greg Daniels and Mike Schur left to make Parks and Rec.

Don't get me wrong, I like Parks...but I loved The Office, and it's a shame how easy that show got buried, cuz of how awful it got.

Steve Carell never won an Emmy for Michael Scott. :smh:

Office is my favorite show of all time, regardless of the horrible last couple seasons. First 3 seasons are my favorite. After Jim got Pam, it went downhill. I loved watching that dude in pain

Just saw Wreck it Ralph. AMAZING FLICK. Funny and a great story
Right?!

Good, clean comedy, too.

Lego Movie may or may not be my favorite kids movie of all time, though. STUPID funny, SUPER basic plotline for a kid to follow, and my son was in TEARS... so yeah, 7 out of 5 stars.

Twas Wreck it Ralph ever since that came out, though. He laughed his tail off when that one Sarah Silverman (still trips me out) chick was mimicking Ralph in Candy Land or whatever it's called.

I brought my niece to see it and it was great to both of us, but I figured...aight...theater haze...some good jokes that hit for the grown people who brought their kids...probably settle down to just pretty good movie if I ever see it again. Put it on for her in the background...ended up watching the whole thing again. I love Lego Movie. :smokin SPACESHIP

22 Jump Street has been getting solid reviews.

I was getting a little worried because it didn't have an MPAA rating for the longest time (it's R now), which seemed like a bad sign.

Maybe the studio was trying to sneak it in as PG-13. I can't imagine the decision was between R and NC-17.

Man, the past several years have produced some great family films. Last year being the only glaring lack where all we had was Frozen (very subpar movie). Lego Movie and Wreck It Ralph are on my 'to-buy' list.

Yeah, I imagine there was a debate over "Can we get this down to a PG-13 without ruining the movie?" and I'm glad they settled on an R rating. And I was skeptical at first, but every preview and trailer I've seen have made me excited.

I wasn't planning on seeing Edge of Tomorrow in theaters because I kind of figured it was going to be average, but the strong reviews have changed my mind.
Big Fish = Great Film
This one's been on my mind to give another shot to. Saw it twice when it first came out. Hated the initial viewing, watched it again to make sure, and the second viewing turned out to simply be a confirmation of my initial hatred.

But for some reason, lately I've been thinking "Idunno. Maybe 'try it again'... again?"

Sort of weird, but Simmons was kind of on to something, Liam is in his 60's, and somehow portrays himself as the toughest dude walkin the Earth right now.

I look forward to Liam in Expendables 4.

I'm probably the only person in the world that not only LOVES the Expendables films, and at the same time, would HATE to see Liam in it. I've never been a huge fan of his.

And on The Lego Movie?

"SPACESHIP!" is probably my favorite stupid moment of any film. It had me in tears.

Watched V for Vendetta for the first time. Loved it

Anyone else feel like The Prestige is underrated as far as being regarded as one of the GOATs go?

Watched The Pretty One tonight, kind of a stupid story.. but eh it was OK I guess. I found Zoe Kazan cute enough to keep watching, also a fan of Jake Johnson so it worked.

Got The Grand Budapest Hotel lined up for tomorrow.

I just saw the trailer for Get On Up, the film staring Chadwick Boseman. This is the same director that brought us The Help. Also starring is Nelsan Ellis, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Dan Aykroyd, and Lennie James. I am stoked. I really liked The Help, and hope this will be half as good.

Dude. **** yes.
The Prestige is legendary. Nolan x Bale alone makes it :pimp:
Jackman, ScarJo, Michael Caine... And David Bowie playing Tesla????
Dude I love the chutzpah of this movie. Even on paper it's astounding.

So well-written
It's smart (I guess all of Nolan's joints are)
Incredibly well acted
And it's got so many quotables

It's in my top 5 of all time.
