Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

That Coppollas nephew right? Whatever happened to that kid? Heard he was a Con and then a car thief? Or was that Travolta? And wasn't be some type of 'ghost rider' at somepoint? Hunting ancient American treasures while raising Arizona?

Man of Steel was garbage? Huh?

I always LOL at dudes who gripe about Supes killing Zod... Like it goes against everything we've ever known and Superman hasn't killed anyone in the history of the comics.

More heroes should kill dangerous villains. No point in catching them only for them to escape again. Police and armed forces can murk their enemies but heroes can't?

Nah, thats the point. Heroes are better than us, the walk a higher moral line. I always liked that. It's cool to see, but I'd prefer if it wasn't the norm.

Watching The Wire, just saw where the Weebay .gif is from

"Shortie was a cop...and she ain't dead."

"Where ya'll put the guns?"

Anyone ever watch Big Love or Carnivale? I'm watching hbo and Big Love is up next. Never had an interest in watching either show but maybe they were good and i'm missing out.

Big Love was interesting.. I stopped just because I fell behind and I've got a couple seasons left. I'll catch up on it at some point. Wouldn't rank in my top lists anywhere.. but an entertaining watch most of the time.

saw Edge of Tomorrow.

I enjoyed it alot, a pretty cleverly pieced together film....

the ending I feel like may take a little heat, but I liked it. It was super generic, martyrdom killing of the main baddie but leaves a little question like: is there another alien above the Omega who reset time even further back?? But I enjoyed the alternate timeline ending how he marched up to Emily Blunt, chuckles cuts to black. Cheesy, cheesy but classic

Speaking of Emily Blunt. I would sex her sooooooo so hard. Sorry Jim.

Bill Paxton was on point

A very classic Tom Cruise performance, dude was great.

I really do not like Mad Eye Moody as an actor..... ever since I saw him in Green Zone, I've disliked him.

The action was great, I wish they took the exo suits a little further in terms of visuals; like with the cartoon-ish animations that the suits were capable of moving like. Wish there was more of it.

In a strange way, the film oddly reminded me a LOT of playing a video game, dying over and over again while inching forward along the story.

All in all, for the skepticism it got from the get-go, I was actually pretty excited for this flick and lived up to what I hoped for (I know nothing about the Japanese book).

A very fun, witty, capably stitched time-travelling film; I give it a 7 out of 8.

If it was an NBA Live game.... it is probably NBA Live 2005 on Playstation 2.

Best movie of the summer so far. :smokin

And I get what you mean about the ending. Like...it doesn't make practical sense. If he went back in time, doesn't it undo the Omega dying? But I just said **** it, cuz on an emotional level it hit me right and letting Emily Blunt stay dead ain't an option I'm willing to consider.
+The dropship and the Louvre was :smokin. They earned their bs

And I know Mad Eye Moody from In Bruges where he was awesome with Colin Farrell, so I was grinning when surprise, him and Paxton are in this.

I loved that for a movie that's supposed to be repeating the same thing over and over again, it always changed and you never saw the next scene coming.

Props for seeing Edge of Tomorrow. I can't get over how good the movie was. It was a great scifi, action/comedy that was original plus it's not a sequel, reboot or remake.

Just finished the first season of The Returned, recommended by Mr.O. It's in french so there's subtitles but man this had me feeling like watching Lost all over again.

Kinda late on the Smallville talk but yeah  Not knowing Welling never suits up. Thing is with that show that I caught on a bit late like S3, then binged the first 2 seasons to keep following. It's a prequel but they stretch **** out towards the end. They could've had the angle for adventures of Superboy but they didn't take that route. The first 3-4 seasons are pretty fresh then the next 2-3 are good to okay but I can say things changed in that ep Pa Kent died. Great ep but after that things were different. Like I don't really have perfect memory but they should've did some off Clark's college years before just sending him to Metropolis. Tying in the other DC heroes wasn't good imo either, they all seemed like weak versions. Atleast they never introduced Batman. Making him the "Red-Blue Blur", completely phasing out Chloe, Lois always just seemed forced as the one for Clark while Lana was still there and they actually went out of their way to write off her baggage (marrying Lex) only to give her some wild kryptonite powers so they could never be together. It's like Spider-Man if Gwen never died but they stil want to make MJ a love interest so Gwen kinda doesn't break up but is around every now and then as she does her own thing. Then making Lionel Darkseid :smh: after killing him in such a great way and all of that alt Earth **** with the evil Clark.

The good things they did they did great; Rosenbaum is Lex Luthor on screen to me. More so than the Lex everybody thinks is black in the cartoon or Gene. Hands down great character work. They did some stuff where you wish the comics were doing it in Action Comics. Lionel was a real villain you wanted to see show up and be apart of Superman's history. The whole red kryptonite badass Clark, Bizaro. It was clear they ran out of good stories after they "killed" Lex or maimed him or got a young clone of him, aged him in the finale and still kept doing more seasons, thinking we'd be cool with Lex's hot step/foster sister. All the villains after that was whack, including Braniac.

So you really got like maybe 6 maybe 7 seasons worth watching if you fell off early. Up to you if you want to watch the fake JL form or prequel Superman show with no Lex or Lionel (oh yeah at some point Lionel gets in a relationship with Ma Kent ad he's a good guy.

I wish Supes killing Zod is what would make ppl say MOS was garbage cuz even then I could argue against ppl who say MOS was garbarge.

For me it's great for the action. It's the type a Superman flick needed and they even went overboard with the destruction if you step back and look at some real world **** but overall the fights and around the world to space action is great. Gotta checkout for everything else story wise.

watched the first episode of Orange Is The New Black......

my bff told me to start it, idk how I feel about this

See, I think Franco and Rogan comedies are so shallow. A study flow of poop jokes. The difference between them and Macfarlane, is the depth. Macfarlane makes a joke about how farting in the west could kill you, setting it up w/explaining how difficult it was to live in the west, sprinkling in very sharp historically accurate jokes...Whereas Rogan makes a joke about a baby eating a condom.

I hope Jumpstreet is funny.
