If your cool with foreign movies, check out Infernal Affairs. The Departed was an American remake of the flick...

Rck any tips on being solo at the movies?
nerd.gif
I have still yet to see a movie solo since posting in here about that topic.....

if I had to guess, I would say go to the one of the first showings of the day to ensure that there aren't many people there? other than that, look to the older folks for guidance

Maybe a little

And Dennis the way you put it, it might not be so bad. Most of the time I'm slightly anxious going with my girl because if she doesn't enjoy the movie im going to hear about it :smh: usually we go because I want to see something, so it's not a good feeling when you think you wasted 2 hours of someone's time with something they didn't enjoy

No pressure alone  . I can just enjoy the flick dolo word to rck :nerd:

She made me promise to wait on 22 jump street tho cuz she loved the first one. She has no interest in comic movies like XMen or sci fi stuff like Edge so this is the perfect time to go solo

I go to the movie alone once a week. I usually go to a late show because of work. I also go with friends sometimes. I'll say this, if you a person who genuinely loves movies and the whole "movie theater experience" always go to movies you want to see alone. Cop a seat,  grab some popcorn ,a free water and pack the cargos with snacks and chill out. I hate talking movies with people right after I've seen them, and I hate when people talk to me during movies. I don't like distractions, as I take notes during movies (research), so when someone is talking to me and I'm trying to analyze a scene I get annoyed. I also hate casual watchers who have super complex opinions on movies, I mean everyone is entitled to an opinion but doesn't mean I have to listen to them all. For a date, I prefer a movie I kind of wanted to see to a movie I really wanted to see. Overall, I've grown so accustomed to going to movies by myself, I don't even ask people anymore, I take girls to happy hours (these **** be thirsty and I'm broke), I go to sporting events with friends...but movies...the movie theater is my "me" place.

Season 3 of Veep.

Watched the last two episodes of the season yesterday. Amazing television.

Can remember the last show that consistently brought the lulz like season 3 did; probably Curb.

Body is ready for season 4.

Everyone I know liked Curb.

I could never get into it :\

.......probably for the same reason I never got into Seinfeld ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Curbed is as much a case study on society as it is a comedy.

Between this and Seinfeld, I learned so much about being a damn adult hahaha all those little things you are suppose to do, that Larry def does not do.

Larry David has written the sitcom bible. The way he sets up jokes throughout the episode, how they intertwine. No scene is wasted and the Lulz are abundant. This particular episode was hilarious. JB Smoove was getting in everywhere because he started wearing glasses, and a black man with glasses seems more intelligent than everyone else. They use it to get the autograph of some Mets player who dropped the game winning catch. Larry is impotent because of the Mr. Tastee theme music, he tried to sleep with the girl in the first clip, but he was impotent so she wouldn't sleep with him.  Good episode, good episode.

IMO, Curb is funnier than Seinfeld, largely because its a cable show and it could therefore get away with so much more in terms of language, situations, topics covered. You couldn't talk about a baby with a big @#$% (aka "porn baby") on a network show, but Larry David did it on curb.

Here is the first teaser trailer for Birdman starring Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis - http://wp.me/p2CCWq-3Fo
Yes.

I think Seinfeld was more clever because of it's limitations. They talked about an ugly baby, and they also talked about shrinkage. Watching Seinfeld now is so different than watching it then because to modern audiences they don't push the envelop, but back then....On "The Bet" episode, the network wouldn't let them do it, but Larry threatened to walk off the show if they didn't, turned out to be Emmy winning. I mean, that doesn't change the reasons you liked Curbed over Seinfeld, but as far as edgy, Seinfeld was plenty edgy...just a little perspective.
