Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Thank for jogging my memory Zik. Ethan being so shook at the crime scene of that massacre makes more sense now.

Hope Bill Hader does his thing in this despite pretty much never liking his take on a gay dude.

On an unrelated note, what's the story with Owen Wilson's nose? It's like permanently broken isn't it? Lately when I see him in movies it's become more and more hard to ignore. The close ups, him sometimes being the guy that gets the girl, etc.

A friend of mine loves Kyle Mooney and Bill Hader. Both went on to be the face of everyone's least favorite mobile providers.

If you want to see Mark Wahlberg catch a drone, find an alien artillery, unlock an alien artillery when he really should have zero clue how to operate it... go to Transformers: Age of Extinction.
If you want to see gravitational laws shattered, Stanley Tucci drink a juice box to get over his anxiety, and a Transformer riding a Transformer... go to Transformers: Age of Extinction.

I've seen the first episode of Black Mirror, the TV show.

The Leftovers is clearly trying to be the over-the-top, Americanized version of The Returned before the official American remake comes out, right? That is all I could think of whilst watching the pilot. Multiple similar elements and precursors.

Has anyone seen Palo Alto yet?

Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad-spinoff is getting pushed to early 2015 and has somehow managed to get renewed for a second season. But here's the kicker, it may be not completely be just a prequel to Breaking Bad. There's talk that it might cover things that occurred before, during and after the Breaking Bad story took place which would mean being reunited some of our favorite characters. I don't know how I feel about any of this.

I figured ethan was a werewolf, the attacks were pretty grisly and savage. I was also thinking he might be a mr hyde type character but he's not a doctor and hyde doesn't rip people to shreds.

Scumbag Frankenstein. Not being a good bro by choosing that specific corpse.

I felt bad for Sir Malcolm. He had to see it for himself that Mina couldn't be saved.

What's up for next season? Finding the master? Would like to see them go to Africa.

@MrONegative  you see the trailer for this "The Colony" wannabe called Utopia on Fox

i'll watch though, i'm a sucker for those types of shows

I'm not so much looking forward to the stuff during but more so after. I want to see where Saul ends up with the new identity, maybe somewhere cold? :nerd:

I forgot to say how much I hate Frankenstein's monster and wanted him to die in the end there. Frankenstein got soft when he aint pulled the trigger just cuz dude said some nice poetic words about his failed life and search for love and if not that I was kinda hoping he'd show back up at the theater when they fought the vampire and found Mina and maybe he'd die there or become involved. NOw that he has Ethan's dead prostitute I doubt it.

I assume next season will be introduction of their versions of iconic fictional English characters and then the other part finding out that the master is in Africa and something happens that forces them to go, kidnap Vanessa,

I hope they bring in another character to be a Van Helsing

Watched The Fast and The Furious, Fast Four, Fast Five over the last two days. Now watching Fast 6. I get ******* emotional watching Paul now. Still can't believe he's gone.

You get the urge to watch one and then you pretty much have to watch 3-4 of these damn movies. They never get old.

I tried watching the first one and it didn't make me want to watch the rest.

5 & 6 didn't keep my attention either but I didn't really start watching either from the beginning. They've been on Max and HBO a lot the past few days, just aint doing it for me.

I told you tho, the 1st one had NO idea what it would build into. Of course it didn't make you want to watch more.
2 didn't have any idea either. But it introduced a few important pieces to the puzzle.
3 for 95% of the movie didn't have any bigger plans, and then, boom, there it was. Bigger picture.
4 was the beginning, the comeback. Things in motion.
5 was the elevation, we here now, kick the door in and work ya over real good. You with us now, no choice but to come with.
6, all in. The final time we'll see the whole joint as one. With the baddest villain yet as icing on the cake.
7 will have an even badder villain, but we will have lost part of the soul of the franchise. |I

You aren't watching one to get to another, you are watching all of them to complete a bigger picture, that wasn't even fully comprehended til the final moments of 3.

And get the Blu Rays. There are after credit scenes in 5-6 that they don't show on HBO etc. Those scenes help show you what's coming.

6 films, 12 hours. You can easily do that. You just asked us for help watching 11 crap movies like it was nothing. You got a 3 day weekend comin up, you could do 2 movies a day and still have 20 hours to do whatever. Come Monday, you'll be salivating for Fast 7, tho with a heavier heart.

It's tougher on you not coming from the start like many of us, but just check the threads, the ones that have been here since 1, are all dancing in the streets with each addition. 7 damn films, and nobody wants it to end. We want more more more and still more, and they keep delivering. That alone should tell you something very clearly. Name another franchise 7 deep that is GAINING traction. It just simply does not happen.

Didn't know Fast Series had such a following. It's funny though, the first two were just movies, but most of the crew came from 1-2. They did it pretty well.

And I keep telling you it's just not keeping my attention. It's just not that good.

The idea of 6 FF movies in 12 hours sounds unbearable to me. I'd rather catch those several hour long Charlton Heston bible, Egyptian, and Julius Caesar movies.

Also there's no way I'm spending money on the blu rays.

I was sitting down with a bunch of movies to catch cuz I actually wanted to see them whether they be crap to you or not don't matter. Cuz from where I'm coming from the FF franchise is crap. I don't care if this franchise is gaining traction. I got this grouped in the bad stuff that lots of ppl like category in my mind. I mean if a movie can't keep me engaged on a couple tries, even the sequels and now you're telling me I gotta watch all 6 to get a bigger picture it just strikes me that right now I'm not interested in seeing that picture. At this point I gave this franchise more tries than any other one I didn't like. I mean you're talking to somebody who fell off those LOTR movies, the Harry Potter flicks, and anything similar that just keeps going for over a decade that honestly wasn't that good to begin with. I see FF and I think of stuff like Torque, XXX, and a not as good action version of Ocean's. I dunno maybe I'd feel differently if there was something appealing about the movie or actors in it. For me to watch these movies you gotta catch me on a lazy Sunday where a station is just doing a FF marathon or something. It's just not something I want to seek out to view.

I'll watch FF7 if one of my fav ladies show up in it naked though :nerd: So there's your hope for me.

I like the premise of the movie, but everyone says they botched the execution. Should I give Transcendence a viewing?

i disagree about 4 being the "comeback". I still don't think we're talking quality, more entertainment here, but 5 and 6 were solid for what these movies are. 3 & 4 are crap. If he didn't like 1 though these movies aren't for him. That's the only semi-realistic one, and if he was turned off by that then there's no chance  Which is fine. Watch what you enjoy. I enjoy F&F 1/2/5/6 once a year or so, but not because I think they're good.

Well, they don't use nudity with their girls, so you're out there.

Fell off LOTR????? ****, had no idea I had to fight that hard with these.

Oh well, I tried.

JPZ, 4's greatness is having them all back. Plus Han.

3's greatness was Han, then tying the worlds together. Even if both movies were lacking.

Same as 2, but they bring Roman, Tej, and Eva + get Brian's job back.

I think Tyrese is a throwaway character.

Han :smokin

Villain in F4 made that one average for me. Plot was like 7 separate stories bunched together with no transitions.

I think you had to watch Fast and Furious as they came out.. you can't just jump into it now.

You had to go out to see the first one in theaters and they tried to actually make it a real movie  They had Ja Rule .. all the corny lines... it's only after you watch it a few times you realize how dumb and hilarious it is. The 2nd one was a legit sequel that was weaker.. the 3rd was just trying something new.. it was only when they got to the 4th, that they knew what they were doing and played to their strengths.

By the 5th.. the first one became a cult hit had this bizarre following and fanbase.. and then they actually made a legitimately awesome action movie with the 5th one while rewarding the original fans

I don't think many would "get it" if they just marathoned all 6 for the first time. You had to be a kid or a teenager or 22 when you first saw the original and you had to drive home pretending to shift 80 times like Vin DIesel  Despite the last two making a ton of money and being real action movies.. it's still a cult franchise. You can't really convince people to enjoy a cult movie.. you either like it or you don't.

If you gave me a cast of Lucy Liu replacing Kang, replace Gadot with any of my fav chicks but since she can't act lets say Draya, replace Walker for Bradley Cooper, kick Luda out for DMX, replace Brewster for Abigail Spencer, murder Tyrese and give me Michael K. Williams instead, keep Vin, The Rock, Gina, and Michelle. Then cast the bad guys better I would've watched FF from the start and been the biggest fan here.
