Is House of Cards really that good? Damn.

Yea it wasn't as nice as season 1.
I thought Hamm in MM was garbage though.

You know, I thought that part 1 of the Series Finale of MadMen was unwatchable. They lost me on the 2nd ep. And I didn't know they had a part 1 and 2 of the final season until two days ago. I thought that show was wrapped. I may give it another try, hate to come all te way to season 7 and bounce on them with 6-10 eps left

I actually love Hamm as Draper.

As for the the first half of the final season. I got an overall problem with AMC doing that in the first place. It's stupid and forces writers to slow their pace down and drag things out which can create filler. As for the first half itself I liked it. Didn't feel like part of a final season though. A lot of stuff changed in rapid succession. I did like it though. I'm not sure if you've been watching MM all this time that this season could suddenly be unwatchable.

All in all I'd take that over the past season of the Newsroom but that's cuz I hold MM up there as one of the most unique shows out there. It's not really comparable to anything else and it's so good in such a different way. I could say it's about the character focus and development (something I love across the board in storytelling) but it's more than that. The characters, the story lines, the style, the time period, etc.

I like Hamm as Draper too. I don't know why I couldn't get into this last season, probably because it was broken down like you said and ran with filler crap. It totally lost me
 
Nobody should or will win over God aka Cranston.


Love Spacey, Hamm, MM and Woody but the only one close is MM and its still easily Cranston in my eyes.
 
I won't expect it this year... either Cranston or MM.. but I really hope Jon Hamm wins for Mad Men's final year next year.

Got around to seeing a couple movies recently.. Short Term 12 and Non-Stop.

At this point, I'll basically watch Liam in any movie, doesn't really matter.. he'll make it interesting.

Short Term 12 lived up to the hype and Brie Larson was excellent as expected.

Just found out that Boardwalk Empire is on it's final season as well :x :smh: :frown: All the best shows ending one year after the other.
 
If I remember correctly, Fx was complaining about True Detective being in the miniseries catagory, but looking at the noms, Fargo is in the miniseries cats gory, Fargo had a longer run and it was renewed for a second season, I believe. Smdh

fx should mind their business. Let shows enter in whatever category they want. Downton Abbey switched into the drama series category which a lot of people thought was a mistake. They can't compete against the top tier series. Still need to finish the most recent season.
 
Just left seeing Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Everyone should go see this movie. They gotta make an Andy Serkis award so he can win it come awards time.
 
I'll hopefully be seeing that on Monday.. it looks awesome and the reviews have been incredible.
