Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Stritch was hilarious on 30 Rock.. easily my favorite guest/minor character.

One of the funniest scenes to me.

Anyone check out the new FX comedies Married and You're The Worst?

Married was good, will check out You're The Worst later.

The Purge: Anarchy is good for the first 1 hour, 10 minutes or so.

Discount Jon Hamm and Carmen Ejogo were the standouts. Zoe Soul and Kiele Sanchez will get on your nerves, and Matt Sarrison is just not that great of an actor

Liked the way everything convened, but again, just the last 2/5 or so were made for TV. If you get a matinee chance, I'd see it.

Married was meh...couldn't stay past the first 5 mins of You're the Worst

I flipped it to Satisfaction and it was mildly entertaining.

Been on my watch list for awhile. Wasn't able to hit it up in the theater but a friend found a rip of it. Better than the first one?

its definitely better than the first one. mind you the first one had some pretty rad martial art sequence already but they were able to out do that in # 2. The director did a great job capturing the different angles and intense moment. I felt the story was better as well.

its been awhile since i seen an martial art film and its exciting to see the raid guys adding something different to the genre.

Heads Up

There is an article by a film site floating around that spoils a major cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy in the title. So do what I'm doing and avoid all articles on GOTG

The minute I saw the damn raccoon was the minute GOTG cemented itself in the pantheon of god-awful films.

Last line of the trailer, "Maybe this was a bad idea" is the finest hour of irony.

wait a movies already go-awful when it hast come out yet?....

Apparently a talking raccoon in space is too much for some ppl.

And I may be mistaken, but that character comes directly from the comic books on which the movie is based. Doesn't seem fair to say the movie awful just because its trying to stay true to its source material. If anything, I guess you could object to the movie being made at all.

FWIW, I actually think it looks decent from the trailers I've seen.

Been sort of back in my movie watching phase.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
I liked it. I appreciate the conflict in the film, stuff like that is what interests me about human behavior with each other. The movie has me interested in watching the OG movies, just because I know VERY little about them.

The Grand Budapest Hotel
Great movie. Classic Wes Anderson. As far as "newer" directors, he's probably one of my favorites.

The Zero Theorem
I hadn't realized I've seen so many Terry Gilliam movies until I wiki'd him after watching this. I really like the side characters in the movie. The whole ambiance is really cool.

Twilight
Don't judge me  Had a chick come over and she wanted to watch it so I'm like ":rolleyes sure". The movie was trash. Acting wasn't good. Effects were very late 90s. But I understand what it's for so it's all good. She was like "We're gonna watch the second one next time" :smh: Smashed as soon as the movie ended so it wasn't all bad. Lol

Hey I don't mind it. Some ppl simply can't get over certain things. They'll accept all types of crazy looking aliens, talking toy looking robots, but a talking fury animal? Suspension of disbelief destroyed.

If that's a hang up for them then the movie wasn't for them to begin with. Shouldn't really take anything they say about the movie seriously when they don't plan to see it.
