Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I actually liked the Eyes Wide Shut score.
It was fitting.
Especially the scenes where he is being followed(the piano), and the scenes from the masked Orgy.

Forest gump.. Kill bill.. Hell, Tarantino ALWAYS nails the scores..

Rocky.. Back to the future.. Ghost busters.. Star Wars..

Saw lion king.. So figured Aladdin and little mermaid needed to be added.. And 1st 2 shreks

just watched Edge of Tomorrow...
SMH at me for sleeping on it!

thought it was a freaking good movie.
interesting from the jump. wasnt really a 'dull' moment throughout.

i always seem to overlook Tom Cruise movies. Edge of Tomorrow, Jack Reacher, Knight & Day. thought these were all good & interesting. missed them in the theatre & watched at home

Boy Ragnar Lothbrock is about to get next level wicked in 2015.

And Houdini is not bad so far. It's shot a little cheesy but Adrien is that dude like always.

:wow: :wow:

HBO to re-air The Wire in HD starting this week???? Potential Blu Ray availability coming??? :nerd:

Anyone else seen that rumor?

Off the top of my dome, my favorite movie soundtracks are Blade Runner, Drive, Tron Legacy, The Harder They Come, Super Fly, Purple Rain, Her, Pulp Fiction, Juice, Lost In Translation, Singles, Kids, Out of Sight...

Her is my favorite recent soundtrack. In addition to being a great film, it had a great score & soundtrack. It really enhanced the film greatly...

Edit - Forgot to include Peter Gabriel's The Last Temptation Of Christ. Crap movie (had a lot of potential but was horribly cast) but the score was incredible!

forgot purple rain.. smmmhhh at me..

also don't forget the classic, friday

Are we talking about scores or soundtracks? Because I understand them to be two different, but related, things. I consider the score to be the original, instrumental music that goes with the film, while soundtracks generally are songs that you hear in the movie. As far as soundtracks go, Purple Rain and Friday are both awesome. I'd put Forrest Gump right up there as well. Some really amazing songs in there. I particularly will always remember the use of Hendrix's Hey Joe when Forrest starts fighting in the "Black Panther party."

Above the Rim was another lackluster movie with a great soundtrack. Big Pimpin' (the original, sorry Jay-Z) is one of my favorite Snoop/Dogg Pound tracks.

If we were talkin soundtracks, Top Gun would need to be atop just about any list.

But yes, Score and soundtrack are completely different.

Funny you mention Top Gun. My wife was watching it the other day and, shortly after, downloaded the entire soundtrack. A lot of quintessential 80s cheese on there, but it is no doubt a classic. Danger Zone >>>>>>>>

Whenever somebody says "sho nuff" I immediately think Last Dragon. Don't remember much about that soundtrack, but figure my girl Vanity had to be on it.

Anyway, Shogun of Harlem :smokin, my man.
