Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I always see this thread on the main page but I have to ask... is the title supposed to say "Conversation" or "Concentration"
I JUST HAVE TO KNOW!!!!

Also John Wick was really good.

Dear White People was good as well.

Arnold has been in a lot of awesome, classic stuff. Action stars today ( Statham, The Rock) star in so much generic, forgettable crap that is straight to redbox / Netflix.

For the purposes of this thread, conversation.

It's obviously a tweaked quote to suit our needs. Came from the mind of our best and brightest poster @MrONegative

arnold in his prime just looked amazing on screen. no modern cgi can make an action star look that action starry

Yeah I know its a tweaked quote, that's why I was wondering...

Thanks for clearing that up.

Speaking of Interstellar, Anyone watch this? It's a flick called Europa Report. Some of "youse" might find this more gratifying than Gravity was...

I wouldn't be surprised if Interstellar received some bad reviews. I think some critics are tired of Nolan films. I think they think Nolan thinks too much of himself or something. I've enjoyed every single film he's done & don't think his latest will disappoint.

I saw the Europa Report. It was decent but some parts were comical to me the moviegoer. I understand that as a scientist you want to know all but I was like nah wouldn't do that. Let's come back with more equipment and people.

As far as comparisons going off that trailer Europa Report seems way more like Interstellar than Gravity. Space crew goes to another planet to explore/get resources as opposes two astronauts lost in Earth's orbit. Some of the cgi don't even look that good for this though.

If they don't like it then they don't like it. I wouldn't over think it with ideas about what critics think Nolan thinks of himself and his work. Seems ways to convoluted and baseless. Nolan really hasn't been in the spotlight like that for ppl to think that.

Europa Report was cool, but I wouldn't put it in the same ball park as Gravity.

The delivery and the CGI alone sets Gravity apart from that VOD flick.

That's not to say that Europa Report doesn't deserve a watch because it does but I just can't really compare the two as apples to apples.

I mentioned Gravity because Europa Report attempted to be some what realistic (Hollywood wise) about space travel, the story line was of course pure sci fi... I would recommend the film. My son & I enjoyed the flick. It was a solid VOD rental.

I recommended Europa Report to my brother and he was like what is this crap. I thought the movie was ok.

The Judge was really good, it's Tony Stark as a lawyer. I'm to the point now where there is no Robert Downey Jr, he's just Tony Stark. His speech patterns, the way he delivers his lines, everything, is just Stark.
LOVED the courtroom scenes where he would flat out disrespect the other lawyer like by pulling his chair, or throwing his notepad.  Those scenes were perfectly done. That is RDJ/Stark right there. Smarter than everyone in the room, ignore everything else, and make it known to get the point across. Rudeness be damned.

Good story, solid cast, bit creepy with the whole ex-other part thing, that was just weird, but in the end, I enjoyed it.

Gone Girl...............my God. This is one of those movies I wish I could delete from my memory right now, so I could watch it again for the "first time". So, so good.

Fincher nailed this, he should def be in the hunt come Oscar time, just not sure if the Oscars will let a movie like this shine. Ben was great, and he has completely revamped his resume now. Gone Baby Gone, The Town, Argo, Gone Girl, The Company Men (lesser known) and upcoming Bat-Supes, he is getting even bigger. He was terrific for this role as lovable husband, regular guy, not good enough, etc. Perfect.
Gone Girl takes on another meaning for me. I thought it meant like gone, like, she's missing, she's gone. Nah. ***** gone, like, gone. Like, WTF? I've always liked Rosamund Pike, but she really nailed this one. She was great. "Why is she dressed like a babysitter?" Might be the funniest thing I've heard in I don't know how long.

Tyler Perry added something to the film. :wow: I don't even know what to say to that. But he did. The sis was cool, the cops were good enough, the music was good, somehow the movie didn't drag at 2:29, I ate up every second of it and didn't want it to end.

Saw 2 films last night that i was pretty much forced to watch (nephew)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which i though was ok. Watching Megan was worth it. Special Effects were really good, story sucked. @ how they made Shredder look like a walking swiss army knife.

Also saw Earth To Echo. Wasn't horrible but the black kid in the film ruined it.

Will watch 22 Jump Street and Europa Report tonight.

Still need to see Gone Girl but anyway I'm in a bit of a happy dilemma. My 3TB external hard drive filled with movies, TV shows is slowly filling up. I'm going to have to get another external. How should I divide it up equally? All movies and TV before 1975 in one external or what?
