Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I'm pretty jacked up for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1.

Watched Catching Fire the other day, and thought it was so much better than the first one at the time I saw it in theaters - and giving it another viewing didn't alter that. Really like Phillip Seymour Hoffman as it is, but really enjoy him in this role as the game creator/rogue gov. head.

The first Hunger Games had so many brain-numbing moments that didn't let me even enjoy the good takeaways.

Like when she climbed the tree: They all fell asleep underneath the tree that she was hiding in. Oh, you guys don't want to take turns? Makes sense. Yeah, let's just sleep underneath this giant, buzzing hive.

i loved whiplash as much as much as birdman even though they are totally different movies

birdman was an amazing feat of filmography and story telling with great characters/actors

whiplash is just a great insight into the drive and hardwork it takes to become the greatest in the world. one of the most moving movies ive seen in a while and both leads knock it out of the park with oscar worthy performances. i loved JK Simmons character and really felt strongly about the character's motivations. he was a realistic character and we need more guys with his mindset in the world

second 8/8 of the year

Peaky Blinders ep 5 is up.

Only 1 more to go for season finale.

I'm really not down with the 6 eps this season. Not enough has happened. Maybe they kill it in the last 2 eps.

And where the hell is The Fall, at?

Bad enough they pushed Black Mirrors until late 2015 with some crap Xmas special instead but now the Fall is MIA.

First the Fat Boys break up......

Interstellar doesn't look good. The trailer looks dull as hell and it gives me that Gravity feel. I ******* hated Gravity.

With that said, I might go see Interstellar because it's gonna be at the real IMAX and I love going there. They only get like 1-2 movies a year.

Gravity pissed me off because of the way they wrote Bullock's character and allowed Clooney to be cool guy George. Gravity should've been a brilliant movie, but they botched it and rationalized its creativity with good imagery.

gravity was average at best. all the hype was because of the imax experience.

Channing Tatum as Gambit? Why? Why?

How on Earth is Tatum going to be taken seriously as Gambit? This dude can't pull off a cajun accent. C'mon man.

I wonder if they would have given Taylor Kitsch the Gambit movie if those other movies he starred in didn't tank so bad.

I wrote about Tatum playing Gambit months ago...I dont understand why it's a story again, this is very old news

Apparently now it's official? I remember when you wrote about it then, was it official then?

Maybe FOX just wants news out there to pretend like they're contending with Marvel

I enjoyed him in the jump street movies. And his cameo in another movie that I won't spoil.i would give it a chance.

Poltergeist is a very well done movie. Always watch it this time of year and always enjoy it. Plus, JoBeth Williams was a MILF back then.

it's very well done. Even though i think it could have ended earlier haha. that movie basically ends twice. it aged well too i just saw it for the first time a year ago and loved it.

Just read a review of interstellar. Dont think it will be something I love. They allude to breaks in the internal logic that's presented. Usually a deal breaker for me in sci if. Plus some questionable motivations by the characters. I dunno if I will see in theaters even though the reviewer said you should for sure see it on a big screen. But ehhh I dunno had a bad feeling about this one. Maybe my low expectation will help me enjoy it when I see it eventually.
