Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Interesting. It's just shocks me a little since we're so politically correct nowadays that we would just put Suicide in a title. I personally don't care, but I could see folks and parents taking umbrage with it.

Agreed. If they end up thinking it will hurt the box office sales, they'll change it. Maybe sneak "Suicide Squad" in a subtitle or something.

Big Hero 6 was solid. TJ Miller's character was great. Nice after credits scene too.

That's cool. Maybe I can convince my son to go see it with me. He hasn't been real big on going to the theater lately, but maybe if I tell him I hear BH6 is really good, that will convince him.

Crossovers to other films. Batman, Superman, Justice League, etc. Same thing Marvel does.

JRS, they are using Suicide Squad as working title, very possible they change it for actual release.
Honestly for me, I like the title since it has that dark eerie feel to it, but like Lawdog said, this could take away from its box office appeal.

Its interesting because the Suicide Squad title might be MORE likely to attract older high school and college kids to the movie, but will probably hurt for age ranges like preteens who depend on their parents to take them. The question will be whether what they'll gain on the one side will be enough to offset what they might lose on the other. I'd also think there's a good chance they'll get **** from suicide prevention groups if they decide to go with the current working title, so there's that.

Yeah it has cluster**** potential with this title. I think if this wasn't a superhero movie it wouldn't be as much of an issue with that title. Heck it might even be doper if it was just random vigilantes and not comic stars.

saw maleficent. really enjoyed it. cool interpretation of the original story. thought jolie nailed it. cgi was :smokin . 6.5/8 .

Just finished watching Live Die Repeat. Thought it was really good. One of the best recent sci-fi movies i've seen along with Looper, the new Star Treks, and Ender's Game.

Of course they changed the main character from a Japanese guy to tom cruise though. My people never get an opportunity fo flourish as the lead in a movie like this, SMH. Emily Blunt was great. Wanted to lick her up and down when she was sweaty in those workout clothes stretching. Noticed she has the same dent looking thing in her neck like Robin Wright. Her suit / armor design reminded me of the character from Wreck It Ralph and her sword looked like something from Final Fantasy.

A Poet In NY was cool. I really liked it and it made me really interested in Dylan Thomas. If this was made in America it's the type of flick you definitely see being a bit more fleshed out and 2hrs with Giammatti or the late great Hoffman playing the role. Dude was a real character. The guy that played him did do a great job though, Tom Hollander. The story of Thomas again probably gives hope to dudes who don't look appealing to women but can bag them a different way.

Also just started watching this new series on BBC called The Game (I thought of the movie but nothing like it) that set in 70s London dealing with MI5 and the Cold War. Interesting to say the least so far.

The Winning Season was pretty funny. Rockwell made a pretty good story funnier. This take on a basketball team was pretty real and grounded as it gets even though they still give it a bit of a happy ending.

As much as I saw At Close Range hyped (elsewhere) I felt it wasn't that good until the middle and the end. Walken was an especially cold blooded bastard in this one. Penn wasn't particularly impressive to me in this but believable given the role. It was pretty grounded and straightforward look on a group of criminal thieves and I liked the naive approach it took on how things led to it's climax and conclusion. These kids really got in it and had no clue. What happens to the sons though :x :smh: Walken's a monster in this and it's bubbling under the surface for so long until it reveals itself in the end. Mad ruthless.

I'm not familiar enough with DC comics by why is it called Suicide Squad? That's a little graphic no?
Something like the criminals can't get out of working for the gov't from now on when they're offered a chance while in prison. They try to escape and they are killed. So joining is basically suicide.

Or something like that. Somebody that's actually read the comic could be more precise or correct me.
9 movies?

Holy ****?

Why is it so many movies?
It isn't exactly 9 movies. Dub just pulled a random # out the air.

If Leto is Joker you should expect him to be in follow up Batman movies and/or SS sequel.

getting hyped with suicide squad. if done right it can really help DC make up some ground on marvel. the hard part is selling it to the older audience but at the same time bringing in the younger audience without any controversy. will be a tough task.

Ya I really thought jake was going to fabricate more stories and knock a few dudes

Would of been cool to see

RoboCop was an exceptional movie, my only complaints is that they never really showed Detroit in a state of turmoil like they described. Never really got a sense of anguish at all. But, action was great and his story was decent enough.

As I wrote in my last graph of the story, the big question will be how much range she shows in her upcoming films leading to Suicide Squad. She has to convince the public prior to the film that WB made the right casting choice.

So The Affair has to be a Mini-Series.
I don't see how it could progress further than a season with this premise.

Nah, she's slamming. Homerun signing.
