Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Dumb and Dumber To was so awful. I expected it to fall short of the original classic but I was ready to walk out in the first 10 minutes. Jokes were corny, Jim and Jeff were trying too hard to be their characters.
I mean, that's exactly what the trailer looks like.

Exactly.

Is it me or are these Hollywood Film Awards giving out awards for movies and roles in movies that only they've seen? It feels like some of these movies haven't even been screened at a film festival

I'm hyped to see Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking and Keira Knightley in this math movie Theory of Everything (or something like that).

pay no attention to the Hollywood Film Awards.

95% of film critics were taken by surprise today...many "what is the Hollywood Film Award" posts

Dumb and Dumber To was brutal.

Can count the times I laughed on one hand. And the loudest was not even from Harry/Lloyd, it was from Rob Riggle.

Him appearing in camo as a piece of the house

I don't know the viewer reviews seem pretty positive on Fandango...

So inconsiderate though. She don't swallow? Was she raised by wolves? Good thing I always check that the seats are clean before I sit in them. Can't fo much about a sticky floor though.

I want to see John Wick and Interstellar. But damn Interstellar is a long *** movie. Does seeing it in theaters add to the experience? And should I just wait for John Wick to hit dvd?
interstellar is a movie you have to see in imax

overall i liked john wick better but its not really a must see on the big screen movie

From all the reviews and opinions I see about Interstellar sounds like another film relying heavily on the spectacle. Once I see multiple ppl telling me I must watch it in imax I just tune out and expect a story that won't be that good.

That I'm seeing stuff like "too ambitious" and "convoluted" makes me eel Nolan didn't spend enough time or have a balance on telling the story opposed to making it look good.

For all of us 80s kids, this dude was a titan amongst us if you grew up watching tv in that era. RIP.

Glen Larson, Producer of ‘Knight Rider’ and ‘Magnum, P.I.,’ Is Dead at 77
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESSNOV. 15, 2014, 5:21 P.M. E.S.T.

LOS ANGELES — Glen A. Larson, the writer and producer behind well-loved TV series such as the original "Battlestar Galactica," ''Knight Rider," ''Magnum, P.I." and "Quincy, M.E.," has died. He was 77.

Larson died at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center on Friday night of complications from esophageal cancer, his son, James Larson, said in a phone interview Saturday.

Glen Larson, also an accomplished singer and composer, was a powerhouse in the television landscape in the 1970s and 1980s, when he churned out hits that became staples in millions of living rooms every night.

He also co-composed the theme songs for some of his hits, including the frequently sampled tune from "Knight Rider" and the orchestral music behind "Battlestar Galactica," his son said.

"He was sort of an icon," James Larson said. "There are a lot of interesting things like that."

Glen Larson was nominated three times for an Emmy, once for a Grammy for the original score of "Battlestar Galactica," and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1985.

Glen Larson was born on Jan. 3, 1937 to a Swedish immigrant mother and a Swedish-American father in Long Beach, California.

In 1956, Glen Larson joined a vocal group called The Four Preps and, with them, appeared in a Gidget film and won three gold records. He helped write and compose some of their hits, including "26 Miles (Santa Catalina)," ''Big Man" and "Down by the Station."

Where he would make a lasting mark, however, was in television.

His first writing credit came in 1966 on an episode of "The Fugitive."

By 1968, he had worked his way up to an associate producer on the series "It Takes a Thief" and quickly rose through the ranks to produce some of the biggest TV shows of the time. At one point, he had five shows airing at once, his son said.

A list of nearly four dozen TV credits also includes "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries," ''B.J. and the Bear," ''The Fall Guy" and the TV movie "The Six Million Dollar Man."

Glen Larson is survived by his wife, Jeannie Pledger, a brother, and nine children from two different marriages.

^^^ RIP to him. Fall Guy, Knight Rider and Magnum were all staples for me when I grew up.

I think most if not everybody in here is at least familiar with Reel 13 Classics on PBS that airs on the weekends. They usually air an old (black and white) classic followed up by an indie movie.

Anyway, I catch the end of Call Northside 777. The movie is basically about how a reporter (Jimmy Stewart) helps out a mother whose son was wrongly convicted and imprisoned to get him freed from prison by proving with evidence he is innocent. I've seen part of it before so I didn't miss out on much but at the end dude is released to meet his son and wife who remarried. The other guy is even there and says something like you can stop by any time to see your boy (indicating they'll work something out). The guy says at the end "It's a good world... outside." Okay then the host of the program is like that was a sweet ending but in actuality the guy this story is based off of actually remarried his wife after she divorced the other guy and had more kids but he was never able to get a job again because of the time he served in prison. He got in to a car accident, no physical injuries but was mentally disoriented forever and ended up in a home where he died in his 70s. Then he says the guys innocent friend who was also wrongly convicted and imprisoned was released 5 years after for w/e reason, moved to Cali and eventually committed suicide :smh: :x

Son, I was sitting there with my draw dropped like how you gonna drop all that real life after such a nice uplifting movie!!!??? :smh: It was so foul  It'd be like if you watched an inspirational movie where a guy just survived through a lot like a pow and then in the end they're like after he was freed and survived he was hit by a bus on the way to meet his girl. It just made me think of more recent documentaries I've watched about wrongly convicted men, the lack of justice they receive after or compensation, and that the experience they have in prison basically permanently changes them so that if they weren't bad when they went in they're gonna be warped and twisted when they come out.

Let's Be Cops

meh. nina dobrev doh

Woody Harrelson hosting SNL, this ought to be decent.

I guess Kendrick Lamar was destined for SNL. Their musical acts have outweighed the hosting for sure. Been the highpoint for me on a few eps.

Just watching Wedding Crashers for the first time in 5 years, forgot how enjoyable this movie is. Bradley Cooper plays a good douchebag and the redhead is ******* psycho.

Best SNL ep this season.

Colin Ferrell and Vince Vaughn to head True Detective season 2?

Damn, damn.

edit: Man hold up, I'm watching this Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B   on Lifetime. Alexandra Shipp is finer than two girls.

Movie is a cheesy Lifetime joint as expected but Aaliyah has 1 of the Best Albums ever, and she was the dopest to me,  so I'm rating it a 10 on IMDB to offset the low *** 3.3 it has ATM
