Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I liked the Naked Gun series... it might not be as funny but I liked the PG13 kind of comedy every now and then. It's funny to see them try to be dirty and clever without getting to be as vulgar as an R-rated comedy.

I did like Young Frankenstein more than Blazing Saddles. The charades scene in YF was better than anything in BS.

Overall though both did not meet my expectations.

Brooks films I love: blazing saddles, history of the world part 1 and men in tights

Thought young Frankenstein was ok.. Spaceballs didn't age well

I gotta say Django Unchained is rising up there as one of QT's most re-watchable flicks man. The writing is so good and the acting is so well done.

I mean the racism is just palpable in this. Once it gets to the real plot of it all it's like every other exchange of dialogue has Django bearing with disrespect and racism, son has to resist the urge to kill all these white ppl let alone keep up the facade.

And Leo, enough can't be said about Leo. Son made me hate his character while being able to recognize in any other movie this level of charm would've already won me over. Great bad guy and then you play that off Samuel L.'s outrageous house ****** character Steven. ****, it's just too good. I mean my son said you might have you a case of ****** love, it'll grab you like a pool of tar  :smh:

Great movie.

^ very rewatchable.. Whenever I see it's on.. I always find myself checking it out for a bit.. Or turn back to it periodically to see which scene they are on

love my dude christoph but leo should have won best supporting actor in django

still consider IG a better movie though

I think Inglorious is better too but it definitely moves at a much slower pace and you can't really throw it on whenever like Django

Blazing saddles is one of the best comedies ever made. You'rea bit sensitive if a few N bombs effected your experience that much. Richard Pryor helped w the script if that helps. I mean it's obviously a satire like you said. Did you hate django and pulp fiction? Those were much worse.

a lot of comedies from back in the day are tame and slow... I'm suprised you hated it that much. I watch it every few years. It's hilarious.

"Mongo only pawn in game of life" is still quoted

I never watched it and your comments make me feel like I'll never watch it. Sounds offensive more than funny.

A random episode of south park is more offensive than blazing saddles. It's really not that serious. You still might hate the movie though

Watching Zombieland right now, that Bill Murray scene had me rolling. Quality short cameo.
I saw the setup to that scene coming a mile away, but man that execution was hilarous.

When did I say the N bombs effected my experience watching the film? I couldn't care less if the N bomb was thrown around every other word. All I did was simply point out how liberal Brooks was with the word in 1974 compared to now in film.

How was snowpiercer?
This year's been pretty damn great for movies.
I haven't worked out a list yet, but I think that's Top 5.

It gets better every time I've seen it. :smh: :smokin

This and...

...right there.

That girl who used to edit his movies who died...Sally?
You can feel her touch missing in Django all over the place.
Had she been there...I think I'd put it over Inglourious.

Either way, I could watch it anyday, easy. :smokin

Oh and Whiplash was fuhnominnal. :nerd:

Wait what?

I was just saying those movies have more N words in it because it sounded like that detracted from venom's viewing experience of BS. But he said it didn't. I didn't think much of it when I was watching it. It all mad sense considering he was a black sheriff back in the day.

I could never get into Benjamin Button and I'm a huge fan of Fincher.

I've tried watching it like 3x and I just fall asleep,

Catch Me If You Can is incredible, easily one of my favorite movies.

Yeah, you gotta be into a story driven movie, it's hella dialogue. I like movies that are narrated with a nice story, like this and Big Fish.

Catch Me If You Can is the ****, I kinda want to see The Terminal now though, that movie is comical.
