How was snowpiercer?
This year's been pretty damn great for movies.
I haven't worked out a list yet, but I think that's Top 5.

It gets better every time I've seen it. :smh: :smokin

I gotta say Django Unchained is rising up there as one of QT's most re-watchable flicks man.
This and...
I think Inglorious is better too but it definitely moves at a much slower pace and you can't really throw it on whenever like Django
...right there.

That girl who used to edit his movies who died...Sally?
You can feel her touch missing in Django all over the place.
Had she been there...I think I'd put it over Inglourious.

Either way, I could watch it anyday, easy. :smokin

Oh and Whiplash was fuhnominnal. :nerd:

Sally Menke.

Yup.. Another movie I put on whenever I see it's on..find myself quoting a ton from this movie

And I'm always quoting brooks' "it's good to be the king"

LOL. That's probably the movie quote my dad uses the most (and one of the few he actually gets right). Our family quotes various stuff from History of the World pretty regularly.

Saw Birdman tonight

Great movie. Really loved the story and it had some really great comedy. A little weird, but not a bad weird or anything. Ed Norton did an amazing job with his character. And Emma Stone's rant was :wow: All the actors really did a great job with their parts. I'm not sure if I like this or Whiplash better. I kind want to see them both again just for a proper comparison, but they're both easily the best movies I've seen so far this year.

I guess my local theater isn't getting Foxcatcher until the 19th of December :smh: Really bummed I have to wait so long, it's my most anticipated movie this year.

love my dude christoph but leo should have won best supporting actor in django
I agree but Christoph's role in this was very seamless. While probably not the most challenging transformation he shines in a whole different way that kept the story flowing.

still consider IG a better movie though
??? Inglorious Basterds? IB I think you mean? Eh, it kinda wears thin for me at points. Characters really weren't as loveable. Best scene I'm recalling is the one where Kruger's character gets found out.

I dunno but some scenes just seemed too harsh even for QT or just too over the top and I really didn't care for the ending other than it being a larger plot point in the QT universe that explains why ppl are so violent since in their history Hitler was gunned down viciously at the movies a few years earlier in France
Blazing saddles is one of the best comedies ever made. You'rea bit sensitive if a few N bombs effected your experience that much. Richard Pryor helped w the script if that helps. I mean it's obviously a satire like you said. Did you hate django and pulp fiction? Those were much worse.

a lot of comedies from back in the day are tame and slow... I'm suprised you hated it that much. I watch it every few years. It's hilarious.

"Mongo only pawn in game of life" is still quoted

When did I say the N bombs effected my experience watching the film? I couldn't care less if the N bomb was thrown around every other word. All I did was simply point out how liberal Brooks was with the word in 1974 compared to now in film.
That you felt it was worth mentioning makes it seems like it bothers you.

Hell since Pryor helped with the script and you look at the rest of Mel's movies you could almost attribute the use of the word to Pryor mostly

Just saying.
All of QT's movies have high rewatchability.

Hold on, even if we just go with flicks he's written and directed I'm not high on the re-watchability of Jackie Brown. Feel like it didn't age well to me and I tried watching it a week or two ago. Maybe cuz it's in two parts but it's like only one of the Kill Bill's gets me to watch it a lot, the first volume. Similar with Grindhouse but I didn't like that one as much and have purposely not seen it in a while.

Fox To Adapt BBC’s Luther With Idris Elba Producing

:x :smh: Don't know how I should feel about this but I kinda don't want to see it happen. Even with the creator coming back and Idris producing I think even he knows there aint no American Luther. That man does not exist. So he'd have to come back in to the role with an American accent. Not to mention I'm not even going to get to see my girl Ruth again in that role.

I'll spare yall with the rant about the greatness that is Luther and the crime against humanity of it not getting more seasons or it's tv/movie finale even though every time I see Idris or Ruth (like on The Affair) I think of the robbery that more stories weren't told.

More importantly, my problem is it's on FOX and not another network that's known for it's quality. Outside of comedies and giving Gordon Ramsey any show he wants I think FOX and think how they botched their adaption of Broadchurch currently and the horrid atrocity known as The Following  :smh:

Worst case scenario, it's so bad it gets canceled mid way through the first season and I can erase it from my memory with a Luther marathon loop. Best case scenario, it's a smashing hit that is somehow better than the original and goes on for 6 or more seasons without ever losing quality.

Now hearing this news makes me happy:

From Hell Television Series In The Works From FX

If done right this has potential to be the best show on tv, best series FX has ever had, and the first time an Alan Moore comic was done justice. I actually can't wait to see the 1st ep of this.

Been seeing a lot of billboards for the Annie remake lately. As much as it annoys me that the movie got made and as much as I don't think it will actually be good, I have a feeling its going to do big box office. Just sets up well for that given when its coming out. Too bad, since its just going to encourage Hollywood to continue with the remakes and reboots.

trailer makes the film look unwatchable to me.
