Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I thought Marco Polo was a movie? Saw a commercial for it on tv.

It's a series on netflix?

Yes. It released on Friday. I've one more episode to knock out.
I'm still blown at Benedict Wong. Once I realized I was impressed by his portrayal of Kublai, I looked on IMDB to see if I have seen him in anything prior. This is when I realized who he was an was even more impressed at his role as Kublai.
He's the Pilot in Prometheus but he was also street dealer in the UK show Top Boy(another great UK show).
I saw a cat in the Netflix thread that said he had "just cancelled Netflix" on Friday. I initially joked to him that he had cancelled 2 hours too early because this show literally started for binge about an hour after his post.
Well, he made a mistake cancelling Netflix, that is for sure.
Anyway, enjoy if you check it.

Edit: Oh yea, there are some Fine AF Asian's on deck too. Slimmys for days man. God Damn!

Going to check out the first ep in a few minutes. Nice to see a show that has Asians in the cast.

The season 1 finale of Marco Polo brief synopsis

On a scale of 1-10 is..Greatness.

Hundred Eyes and Jia Sidao are those dudes.

Fight scenes are top notch.

Story line is top notch.

Season 2 expectations are through the roof.
The final fight scene between Hundred Eyes the Monk and Jia Siado the Praying Mantis KungFu Emperor was perfection. Do yourself a favor and watch this Series yesterday.

Speaking of Christmas movies, I watched Fred Claus last night. Its decent, but definitely not a classic. Vaughn does his thing, Kevin Spacey is a good bad guy (as usual) and Rachel Weisz looks (and sounds -- love accents) great, but I think Paul Giamatti was miscast as Santa Claus. His performance brought the whole movie down for me a little bit.

Relatedly, I don't get the popularity of the Polar Express. Movie just doesn't do it for me.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is my favorite then Home Alone.

I got burnt out on A Christmas Story, it just doesn't feel special anymore.

Yeah, having TBS air Christmas Story for 24 hours straight around Christmas did not help the film's legacy.

Didn't know so many spoke English in the Mongol empire and the Song Dynasty. Their accents kinda sound like English accents too.

It's stuff like that that' been pissing me off.

Since Exodus, I've gotten the idea that their should be some Shakespeare work or story about King/Queen of England made in to a movie but the cast is filled with nothing but black, Asian, and Hispanic actors. Then just keep doing it over and over. Not all black or any one race just keep appropriating notoriously all white works for ppl of color. I'm ready for Idris Elba to be King Henry, I wanna see John Leguizamo as Robin Hood, Salma Hayek as Joan of Arc, Morgan Freeman be Winston Churchill, and so on and so forth.

i was watching tokyo drift the other day and got annoyed at everyone speaking english, ive been to japan twice and no one speaks english

also nothing dates a movie more than seeing lil bow wow in it

Went and splurged on some blu rays today.

Godzilla
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
X-Men Days of Futures Past 3D
