Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

That dudes interpretation of lone survivor is ridiculous, watch for yourselves.
LoL ... Just because I disagree with the notion that this dude was a hero ... There's a reason he was the Lone Survivor ....

While the others where talking about going on suicide missions to save the others or him he didn't out much of a fight to help them or stop him ... I myself will never let my boys go alone and he did ...

Never heard of the saying Marines never leave Marines behind ... He certainly did.

But it is what it is ... You have your opinion and I have mines. ...

My question to you is .. Would you let your blood brother or father or relative you love go into a fight by himself knowing he's going to get ****** up? If your answer is no .. Then you should know my problem ...

Watched Fury last night.

It was ok, but extremley predictable.

Opening scene was the best scene.

Dinner scene could of been sooooooo much better.

Why were they so upset?

Because he was chillin with youngblood?
why? Because he has the nerve to invite someone that hasn't been there the entire time and them that were there for him since the start aren't invited? ... Some people really don't understand the brotherhood bond .... IE the Lone Survivor ...

Started up season 4 of Misfits again. Rudy is too entertaining. He reminds me of how I talk which is probably a bad thing. The new girl Jess and the probation officer Lola are too fine.

I'm not really into the military film genre (even though I'm trying to write one, go figure) but I am super hyped for American Sniper. Not sure why, I haven't seen a Clint Eastwood film in a theater in a while and I'm not a big Bradley Cooper fan. Guess that's what a well cut trailer/commercial will do to you. :\

Anyone else excited for the film, purely on the trailers?

one of my friends is. he wanted to check it out last night but no theaters around our way carry it. i'm not interested in watching it really. looks too intense and emotional for me.

keko jones keko jones Do you mind if I discuss this movie Lone Survivor with you briefly.
I'm really trying to see it from your perspective.
2 questions really so I can maybe focus on those parts.

You mentioned him letting his bros go into a suicide mission?

My view was that they all got ambushed initially and weren't "going in" to anything.

As far as going back to look for them, when did he actually leave? He got captured right? Well not captured more like rescued. He was laying in a puddle of water exhausted and the Man and son walked up on him and actually helped him when he was about to blow himself and them away with a single grenade.

Really not busting balls here I'm trying to Undrstand your POVs.

you are way ahead man ..

Let me just talk about the obvious ones that I remember.

1.take the prisoners until they get away. He didn't want to do anything but let them go .. That's against logic and everyone's view.

2.the capt going back to made radio contact. That's a suicide mission and he just let him go. No way I'm letting my brother risk his life for mines ... Either we are both going or not.

3.when he reunite with my other dude and he is asking for the rest of the team. He is told they are dead. What does he do? Say **** no we going back ... A real reaction from someone that is fighting for each other .. What does butch boy do ... No no no ...

Dude I'm mad as **** I don't even want to talk about it .... Dude was more on self preservation .. Bah ...

Dude didn't even make an attempt to try and go for dude that was on his back ... He just said we lost him ...

Agrrrrrr

OK that makes sense. I couldn't see any of that until you explained it.

Man what a tough call on the prisoners though. Kill them and break Rules of Engagement, or take them with and have them slow you down on the way to being extracted.

I would have gagged and tied them and headed for  the mountain top. Taking a chance that the Wolves didn't eat them would be the only logical choice if you didn't want to Murder them.

exactly but his *** was all about let them go ... Thus if someone had to give their life first .. IMHO it was him because that was his choice. Instead everyone have their lives for something he was very adamant about doing. Lmao ... Again .. Just watch the movies and every inscident that happen and you might see what I'm taking about.

I don't know if that's entirely how it went down but if its not far from the truth I'm willing to bet he did more running that fighting.

been feening for a new show to watch and i caught the wire on HBO yesterday.

i tried giving it a shot before but for some reason i couldn't get into it. but now im HOOKED. feeling like bubbles trying to get a fix.

already finished season 1 in less than a day

Salvador was great :pimp: James Woods with the stellar performance.

At first it was pretty fun following this degenerate around but then it soon became so engagingly emotional and tense. James Woods completely dominated. Just put his character in this setting in different situation where he's going from trying to make money and get a job as a photojournalist to trying to make a difference to just trying to get his gf and her kids out of the country. Just the war and politics of it all was so ****** up.

One hilarious thing I can see looking back is Belushi's character just goes along unknowingly, hates it there, gets to like it, and in the end he ******* stays there  I was like what the ****! Why would anyone want to stay in this place? Just cuz an American dollar can buy you so much? I don't care how much alcohol, weed, and yambs I'm getting. Aint no way I'm going to be living in 3rd world status during a damn civil war with cold war implications :smh:

The drama of this movie is really what gets you though. I almost gotta say these photojournalists are braver than soldiers cuz at least they're taking lives and fighting for something. These photojournalists talking about going to places like South Africa, Vietnam, etc. just to take pictures of mountains of dead bodies and write a story about it, all to make sure it gets out to the rest of the world. It's definitely it's on calling but can be too reckless. Running in to war zones taking pics, dodging bullets running back and forth from both sides :x The risk is insane and this movie really brought you in to that reality as best it could. Woods just shines when he's telling off the adviser to the American ambassador and one of the generals. Even more so when he's being a pain in the *** to the rising new leader of the country that running death squads on the resistance. Then all of the corrupt acts going on in this civil war :x :smh: The church scene (like I'm an atheist and knew how foul that was), the relief workers :frown: , etc.

The whole final act of the movie was just great. Didn't expect an ending could have so many close call false stops bad ends only for them to give so much hope in like the last 5 min only to make the ending so bittersweet.

I could say a whole lot more about it but even though this came out in '86 I won't spoil much.

Great movie 7.4/8 Will watch again.

Nice review. Makes a dude want to see it.

Foxcatcher: What an epic role for Tatum.
I've heard it's great man. Definitely watch it.

I gotta wait till Jan 29th for it to release here

I want to apologize to those that care about my lack of reviews. At the end of November I had a major job shift, the company I was working for asked me to go back into the office and take the assistant administrator seat that was vacated.

So while I have still had time to see films, writing them, due to lack of time has been nearly impossible.

Between the job, my girlfriend officially moving into my apt, and a slight loss of the spark to write...that's where I'm at.

I've seen every major Oscar film thus far except Birdman and Selma, off the top of my head. So if anyone is curious about anything let me know.

Watched four weddings and a funeral last night with my girl,

What was the appeal of this movie again?
