Finally watched Edge of Tomorrow, and really liked it as I expected. Fortunately, the hype didn't get to me and I was able to enjoy it, would have been great in theaters, though.

Really have no interest in Star Wars, but I'll get dragged to it so Avengers for me followed by Jurassic World (although it has a high chance of being cheeks)

Late pass, but I finally watched Guardians of the Galaxy.........and it sucked.

I feel like the Studio who owns Edge of Tomorrow could do a 30 minute special, interview randoms and celebs on how great it is, throw a decent amount of advertising combined with whoever the best trailer cut guy is, re-release it, and make way more than they did on its initial release.
Combined with a terrible Title and a ****** trailer, this movie was NEVER going to take off.

I know this is an extremely hard question to answer for you movie geeks. But If you could only watch ONE of the anticipated 2015 movies this year which one would you chose? :nerd:

You only have minimal trailers, castings, and information to go by.

That's what makes it fun.

Right now... My gut just says Spectre (Bond 24) because of the Christoph Waltz casting and Sam Mendes coming back to direct. I simply CANNOT WAIT for that movie.

Of course there's lots to look forward to this year, but Thats the one for now I would say I'd watch over anything else this year if I was forced to pick.

What about you guys? :nerd:
(Don't be stubborn cp, I know 1 is hard... But stick to the rules, no exceptions  )

hmmm it's between Triple Nine and Everest for me....

I'm gonna go with...

Triple Nine.

Hateful 8 is the only one i'm truly hype about.

Don't really care for stuff like Star Wars or super heroes.  I don't know what the rest are

Kill Bill was on in the basement at my cousin's house last night. Man I love the little things Tarantino does with that funky music and the way he worps his films into like a 70s film. I just wish he didn't become so obsessed with violence. Few people use music better than Q.

I don't think anyone uses music better.

Hitchcock and Hermann were brilliant scoring films but using pop music in cinema, you're prob right I can't think of anyone else that does it better. Maybe Marty.

The score for The Equalizer was terrible IMO. It kinda took away from the movie for me. Also Denzel is really starting to look old... He's got a turkey neck for Christ's sake...

:rolleyes

I had a friend who loved The Babadook and thought she should get some recognition. I don't believe horror films are made, or watched in the same manner as other films. And I also don't judge horror performances in any type of impressed or not impressed way.

They don't appeal to me to begin, something about "acting scared" doesn't impress me

Anthony Perkins, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Hopkins? :smh:

The music in this scene is impressive. Makes the scene go from 10/10 to Z/10

A director choosing his songs/score is only as good as his composer.

Ennio Morricone is a God. Up there with Hans Zimmer and Bernard Hermann.

Word Morricone was awesome. Another great one that isn't too well known since he was Russian is Sergei Prokofiev. Mad happy I took a music in film class in college. Teacher gave everyone A's and the class itself was dope.

Venom did you take it as well?

I think Wes Anderson uses music very effectively in his films, but in a more quirky way than QT. Cameron Crowe's better movies are also strong in that regard (think Say Anything, Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous). Smaller sample size, but John Favreau has nailed the music in his independent films ... and Elf.

I really liked Edge of Tomorrow but towards the end ... Ugh ...

No but I did take a Men, Women and Sex in Film class during the summer in my senior year. Got an A...obviously. But it was an awesome class watched Halloween for the first time, Basic Instinct for the first time and many more in that class.

Film classes are amazing.

I have a dream of one day going to film school, as I would love to write a script one day

I took an introduction to film class as an undergrad. Was very cool. Saw a lot of the classics in that class - Citizen Kane, Apocalypse Now, Rear Window.
