Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

out of all movies, why would GoTG be the one you compare this to

lol ... Buahahaha ... Is cool man ... I'm not getting paid here ... I just knew that line was going to strike a nerve ... But no not really

I think some of the people that didn't like AS and called overrated are fans of GoTG ... Just goes to show people have different taste man ... This movie IMHO is better than GoTG as a movie for pure entertainment goes ... Although the have nothing on common.
This is such a weak connection

Completely random to compare American Sniper to GotG even if ppl liked one and thought the other was overrated.

If we go off of pure entertainment we can name all types of movies as being better than the other.

lol ... Them Jimmies rustle they are ... Lmao

I'm actually wanting to know what made this man a scumbag. I have been reading and I don't find anything.

Movie was average

Then finding out dude was really a piece of **** and the movie painted him a totally different way left a bad taste in my mouth
where did you find out he was a piece of ****? Just curious?

PTSD is a MF and if you haven't been in combat and experience that you wouldn't know. I think the story did a good job in depecting his military and personal life struggles.

I'm not saying the movie was great but it was enjoyable. Show his progression in the military life, what fueled him, his infamous shot and his struggles at home. It also showed his love for his country ...

Overall again a good movie ... Better than GoTG ... I'm SRS ... But that's my opinion.

Whether he was an *** in real life or not I do not know.

I'm talking about the journals he kept in Iraq. Dude got an enjoyment out of killing/harming potentially innocent Iraqis as much as the guilty....dude didn't care that he killed a ******* kid

where can I read this? ... Honestly speaking killing a kid would linger buy I would have no ducks if he was a potential threat ... In the Somalia conflict a lot of kids where doing the killing.

I just want to see these journals you speaking about. Killing innocent people goes against rules of war and is punishable. Would love to see if the navy and us let him slide.

Whiplash.........wow.

Wow man.

Anyone planning to see Inherent Vice this weekend?

Already seen it, didn't think much of it.

Film is aight but I wouldn't waste a trip to the theater to see it.

I'm a huge fan of PTA too but I guess if you really enjoyed The Master, you might really like this too.

Nah, if anything I feel you're really diminishing the quality of American Sniper when you do that.

It'd be like me saying The Godfather >>> The Empire Strikes Back and ppl acting like there's nothing wrong with that comparison because I said I enjoyed one more because of the "pure entertainment"

It's ******* stupid

During war, they teach soldiers to hate their enemy in a sick way. Eventually the face of the enemy gets painted in the same color, religion, attire, facial features of the ppl in the region so you end up hating everybody. It's inevitable you'll see them as less than human. You're taught to see a human person and treat it as another statistic.

It's how we get **** like Abu Graib. You go further back you'll see for some, definitely not all, it just creates this sadistic nature. Word to Vietnam. Usually stuff like that takes some conditioning and programming like the Nazis but given the situations some of these soldiers were in which led them to enlist or the draft you'll be coming in to a war zone all ****** up.

Can someone explain bird man to Me?

I don't understand it.
The "powers" that it showed him having were the times when his sub-conscious was talking to him, trying to tell him he was still the man while he was doubting himself or coming face to face with the fact that he was washed up.

They (his powers) didn't exist, which is why he could only float, or move things without touching them, when he was alone, with the voice of his subconscious.

He had tried to commit suicide during the final act in his play, but only managed to shoot his nose off.

When it showed him jumping out of the window at the end, he did in fact kill himself.

The reason his daughter looked out the window after he had jumped, and then smiled, is because she saw him succeed before he died, by gaining social media followers, News Paper headlines etc.

She knew he was dead but the reason she smiled anyway and acted as if she saw him flying is because this was the writer/directors subtle, sarcastic, or satire print of those who gain "Immortality" and wide fame after dying.

This is my take on it anyway. I know this post is kind of hit and miss but I didn't want to write much more.

The irony in the whole movie, and maybe the best part is that Michael Keaton lived/lives much like his character in the Movie, because He gained so much popularity after the OG Batman and then Batman Returns, and was never the same career wise after those films.

Again, this is what I took from it.

how is that stupid? You might actually like the godfather better ... Is crime drama while the other is a sci fi ... Both movie are great but you might enjoy crime and drama better .... Don't know wtf is with that. Im sure there are people out there that can sit down and enjoy either movies over the other.

Exactly.

If you already know you like one genre over another it makes no sense at all to pit one movie in a genre you like less to a movie in a genre you like more. It's inherently bias. That's what the **** is wrong with that. That's that near Antidope reasoning.

Makes no sense to compare either movie but we might as well end it here. I'm not gonna pretend like you didn't start this off with a reach about ppl who like GotG happen to dislike AS  That just seems like you going out of your way to still hate on GotG.

No, you can say it.

It's horrendous

I had a feeling.

Especially since I watched the OG some time last month just to refresh my mind on how good it is.

new Chappie trailer..... if all of Blomkamp's movies are going to have somewhat of the same premise, can he at least get a District 10 out there???

Man what he was able to do with that District 9 budget is really amazing. Looked way cleaner than these 100 million budget films.

In the Batman thread, there is a rumor growing that the film is being broken into 2 parts, and the first part will drop THIS October!!! :nerd: :wow: :pimp:

With the second half the regularly scheduled March date next year.

Holy **** if true. 2015 would have just gotten even better.
