Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Just got District 9 on blue ray. Had the DVD for years. Phyllis Sinderson one of the people interviewed got a mean mustache in HD lol

Didn't even know the GG were on tonight.. Poehler looking real nice.

And as for Anne Hathaway, IMO, she was in her absolute hottest in Get Smart. Really wish we could have gotten that version in TDKR.

And hooray for J.K. winning best supporting actor!

J-Lo though

I'm rewatching The Office.... on season 5 right now.....

When I see Idris Elba as Charles Miner, I like to imagine its an alternate ending for Stringer Bell...

Like maybe before Brother Mouzone and Omar found him at the construction site, he got away and McNaulty was able to somehow get Stringer protection and place him under protective custody, some years pass and now he's in witness protection as an informant under the alias Charles Miner, formerly employed by Saticoy Steel, and now current VP of Dunder Mifflin.

Stringer got outta the game and now made himself into a stand up businessman who is an avid soccer fan.

:frown:

I didn't catch the other nominees for when The Affair won their award. I got an idea but who were they? :nerd: Happy for them and at the same time shocked they won given the competition I know was just as good if not better. Show was really good, hope more ppl check it out.

Kevin Spacey :pimp: Frank Underwood had to win and I hope he wins an Oscar and the SAG award.

after watching the imitation game trailer on tv im convinced that they only had the war scenes in the movie so that they could make the trailer more exciting for the average movie goer

ironically the war scenes were the most boring part of the movie

Finished The Guest, decent as long as you go in open minded. Between this and Wingards last film, I definitely prefer You're Next overall while the acting was better in The Guest. Soundtrack was amazing.

 @ Will Smith basically playing the devil in a Winter's Tale.

Such a weirdly bad movie where they tried instilling a love story and some sap story about saving a kid with cancer.

Must've been a check for most involved. I wonder what Crowe was doing it too.

bought ninja turtles (2014) and guardians of the galaxy on blu ray. gotg was a must but turtles was just so surprisingly good .

This Whiplash movie has been the topic of conversation for like four pages.

You know what movie that was well liked in here that I didn't think I would like but liked it? Pitch Perfect. Anticipating the second one.

I just watched The Devil Wears Prada for the first time in a very long time and going off recollection it's about the same :smh: Might be even more displeased with the movie than the first time around. Guilty pleasure (I don't even do that phrase) or not I don't see what so many of yall liked about it. The movie almost has no redeeming qualities. Felt a bit depressing :smh:

The only time I got a chuckle was when she sent ol girl out to get the unpublished Harry Potter book.

Other than that I felt the movie was entirely too long. Another 2hr flick that doesn't need to be 2hrs.

Almost think it has some message when they say what if Streep's character was a man she wouldn't be seen in the light most see her in as the dragon lady and Anne's character starts to sympathize with her right around they bring up the divorce and her kids but they do a hard heel turn on that in the end. Like I was fine with her just being the mean demanding boss that is making moves in a million dollar industry just cuz that's how the world works.

Then in the end shorty doesn't even tell homey from Entourage that she was sucking off the Mentalist in Paris. Finally learns her lesson and gets a new job in the field she should've stuck with applying to from the jump. Whole movie just didn't give me that feel of something I'd keep on in the background or ever want to watch again if it's on tv no matter at what point it's at.

Did I miss something here? Feel like I almost wasted time.
