Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

^ I read about that on Vulture a month ago or so. What the hell.

Financially it's not a question, I'm just talking about moving forward. His name, alone, carrying a movie.

No ensemble cast. Just Bale's name. It's interesting that since TDKR came to a close, his name hasn't been associated with a movie where he was the standalone headliner and the film reaped incredible relevancy and success. It happened so often in the several years prior.

Why was That Awkward Moment even titled that? Should've been called Simping Every Moment.

Not a good movie overall.

Poots is cute though.

Oh DDL is obviously gearing up for a sci fi movie next.

Man, you just know you'll be in that theater nine months out from whatever Sci-Fi movie DDL handpicks... and that trailer hits and everybody goes wide-eyed :wow:

I saw Into The Woods last night. Who else has seen it?

Marvel may have bought a share of the rights to Spider-Man? Please, please, please let that **** be true.

I considered it, just because of how much I like Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Musicals historically don't do it for me.

I am so disappointed Anthony Mackie replaced MBJ in Triple Nine.

Don't get me wrong, I like Mackie... But I was excited to see my dude MBJ shine along with that great cast with the great script.

Got an e-mail about this today -

The greatest space adventure of all time returns to Marvel! Luke Skywalker and the ragtag band of rebels fighting against the Galactic Empire are fresh off their biggest victory yet- the destruction of the massive battle station known as the Death Star. But the Empire's not toppled yet! Join Luke along with Princess Leia, smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, droids C-3PO and R2-D2, and the rest of the Rebel Alliance, as they strike out for freedom against the evil forces of Darth Vader and his master, the Emperor. Written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder), and with art by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny Avengers), this is the Star Wars saga as only Marvel Comics could make it!

Disney going to use all possible avenues of making more Star Wars money.

I like Tropic Thunder more and more with time. This **** is so damn funny and insanely stupid. The cast is just unreal. **** I love this movie.

knocked out a bunch of movies this week:

- Birdman

- John Wick

- Whiplash

- American Sniper

- Foxcatcher

Whiplash was definitely my favorite out of all of them. Incredible performance by J.K. Simmons and just all around great film. Really enjoyed the Jazz music too.

watched birdman today. great acting. good movie albeit show-offy and self-indulgent.
watched whiplash yesterday. that was fantastic. thoroughly enjoyable.

[COLOR=#red]Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling to Star in Financial Drama ‘The Big Short’ (EXCLUSIVE)[/COLOR]

Following the success of “Moneyball,” Brad Pitt and his Plan B shingle have assembled an all-star cast for the next adaptation of a Michael Lewis bestseller.

Sources tell Variety that Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling have come on board to star in “The Big Short,” Paramount and Plan B’s adaptation “The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine,” which Adam McKay is writing and directing.

Lewis’ nonfiction tome tells the story of the build-up of the housing and credit bubble during the 2000s that led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010. Paramount had no comment.

Pitt will produce with DeDe Gardner through their Plan B banner. Production start date is unknown.

The book follows several key people who played a role in creating the disastrous credit bubble. The feature adaptation will likely feature several A-list actors who have similiar-sized roles, similar to the cast of “Traffic” or “The Counselor.”

As with “Moneyball,” Pitt has been very passionate about getting this adaptation onto the bigscreen.

His Plan B company has built a reputation for serious dramas that tackle important issues, with “12 Years a Slave” landing last year’s best picture Oscar and “Selma” deep in the Oscar race this year.

Pitt, who is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment, was last seen in “Fury.” The WME-repped Bale was last seen in “Exodus: Gods and Kings” and will shoot the Travis McGee pic “The Deep Blue Goodby” this spring.

Gosling just wrapped production on the Warner Bros. thriller “The Nice Guys.” He is repped by Anonymous Content and LBI Entertainment.

Don't know if I said it already but The Secret Life of Walter Mitty wasn't that bad. It wasn't too long it's just that Stiller didn't do enough to make the movie worth being 2hrs. Lot of potential for that though. There's a good 40 min in the movie though.

Up in the Air was really good even though I saw that little twist in the end coming. Almost made me dislike Vera Farmiga but we all know that couldn't last. She straight up blindsided him and acted like it was no problem going forward. Will watch again 6.7/8

Really got a similar and relatable connection to the two protagonists in both those movies.

I almost don't want to get too hyped.

I still remember how Gangster Squad let me down and how Killing Me Softly could've been better.

Both good points. But finance is my life so I'm automatically sold when a great story about the last recession is turned into a film e.g. Margin Call, Too Big to Fail, etc. Cant help but be hyped when seeing those names attached as well

Now, for even better news!
ALEX GARLAND SAYS HE AND DANNY BOYLE ARE DISCUSSING 28 MONTHS LATER
While speaking to IGN about his directorial debut  Ex Machina28 Days Later… screenwriter Alex Garland, a frequent Danny Boyle collaborator, gave an update on the favorite horror series saying, “We’ve just started talking about it seriously. We’ve got an idea. Danny [Boyle] and [producer] Andrew [Macdonald] and I have been having quite serious conversations about it so it is a possibility. It’s complicated. There’s a whole bunch of reasons why it’s complicated, which are boring so I won’t go into [it], but there’s a possibility.” Garland continued, “It’s more likely to be 28 Months  than 28 Years,” adding, “28 Years  gives you one more place to go. 28 Decadesis probably taking the piss.”

If this **** ever gets made I might die in the theater when the credits start.
