Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

The first four seasons of Friends are pretty dated, but after that I'd say the look/content is something you could watch today and still get a lot of the same out of it.

For a laugh-track era comedy, it's entertaining here and there.

everyone loving whiplash :pimp:

watched fantastic mr fox today, never really was interested because it looked like a kids movie but its a lot of fun and far from a kids movie

6.9/8

After about the first 15 minutes, you almost forget that it's animated and it becomes just another Wes Anderson movie.

Watched whiplash this past weekend it was great! Just came back from American Sniper and it did not disappoint.

I tried watching it last night but couldn't get into it. Brolin was a d*** though with the "She's gone." phone call

Haven't seen Whiplash yet, but American Sniper was easily in my top 5 of 2014..I hope Cooper get's that Oscar this year..If he don't get the statue this year then he's officially the new Leo D.

You used to be fun when you engaged in conversation.

These days you post something, mock what you think the potential response it, and dead the convo quick

Okay man, if you don't wanna discuss the movie we don't have to.

I just thought it would be fun, I really enjoyed it. Love discussing it with people.
My bad

*kanye shrug*

Why didn't Gone Girl get much Oscar love? Only Pike is nominated.
unfortunately I haven't seen it yet.. which is terrible since I'm a huge fincher fan

but if a movie can make tyler perry likeable, well that has to be one damn good movie

I've always mocked potential responses. Like, from day one on here. I've been mocked for how I mock potential responses. B1LLY HOYLE used to make fun of me constantly for it.

I'm an extremely dedicated father with a growing boy who needs more and more attention and guidance, and I have two jobs. Would you like me to just not post at all? Since apparently I'm supposed to keep in mind how you would like me to contribute to conversations.

This ain't a thread about me, though, or you.

Gone Girl :nerd:

Like whoa :nerd:

(Yes, that was rough. I hate personal responses. In general, statements that begin with "You" and AREN'T encouraging, they usually evoke a defensive response.)

Speaking of Tyler Perry. Last weekend I think it was TBS that was showing a marathon of a bunch of his Madea movies. For whatever reason, my wife had it on, so I caught a few minutes here and there between doing other things. I honestly am completely perplexed as to how he's made so many of those movies. Seems like something that would be good for an occasional bit on a sketch comedy show; not the focus of like 7 movies. But more power to him though for finding an audience for the films.

It's cool ska.
I know you're better with words than most of us, so I honestly know better than to get into a "war of words" with you.

I just enjoy discussing certain movies in more detail, not every one.
Gone girl just automatically grabs my attention when it's brought up. I was excited to possibly have a back and forth with you when you brought it up, discuss the details.

You obviously don't want to do that.
No harm no foul.
We'll leave it at "whoa" if that's all you wanna leave it at.

There's a thread for the movie that people like me who are more passionate about discussing it can go in and debate with, which we have been.

No worries bro. I can take the sarcasm.

Oh, I want to.

2 things prevent that.

1. Full plate, as mentioned.
2. Movie is too new to really discuss thoroughly, methinks. And with how unique it is, I find it difficult to really discuss without killing it for people. Spoilers, I know. Might do that later, actually.

Married people - I imagine Gone Girl was a hard one to see with the wife. I just know from pure observation of people I know that are married that there were definite truths to the issues that were wedging them a part. Obviously what happened thereafter is not relatable, but.

Naw, the wife and I loved it. We've been together for........18 years, 18.5 actually.

**** happens in life, period. Good, bad, indifferent, **** happens. People go thru stuff, you either fight thru it, or you don't. Depends on the person you're with, and the person you are.

That said, I don't look like Ben, and I don't have a 20 year old with huge boobs sneaking into my sisters house, so maybe I'm just not really living, I dunno.

I do know that my wife would not shove a champagne bottle where the sun don't shine, she damn near got up and walked out when that happened. She wasn't havin that.
Even I shifted in my seat a little like, *****, you crazy? At least drink it first, damn.
