Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Oh well great, that's good to hear CP. :smokin

I have Wild and Whiplash on me, save Whiplash since it's a better movie and go with Wild, the better performance, or vice versa?

Whiplash. You will never regret it. Just unplug for 2 hours and enjoy the ride.

Since it was the first time I had seen him, Miles Teller will always be the guy who Larry Walker'd his way to supplying ecstasy to a bunch of high school kids.

but if a movie can make tyler perry likeable, well that has to be one damn good movie
Speaking of Tyler Perry. Last weekend I think it was TBS that was showing a marathon of a bunch of his Madea movies. For whatever reason, my wife had it on, so I caught a few minutes here and there between doing other things. I honestly am completely perplexed as to how he's made so many of those movies. Seems like something that would be good for an occasional bit on a sketch comedy show; not the focus of like 7 movies. But more power to him though for finding an audience for the films.
I was seriously considering not watching the playoffs whatever year that was that every other commercial was for that god awful show that was on TBS

I am proud to say I have never watched or supported any of those projects.. although I've seen way too many commercials for my liking

watched this after game 5 when the thunder lost in the finals..

me and one of my boys had an EPIC night

I saw it as a freshman in college, and still maintain the opinion it's far better than what most think about it.

man.. I was already drinking during the game.. then we started losing, so I started drinking more.. then I had heat fans starting to talk shhh, so kept drinking..

then we started watching the movie.. literally just had it going on in the background, while the handful of us that were still there were playing drinking games (I want to say it was a Thursday night, so work the next day)..

then we all were just like "f it.. let's go out"

im glad someone here has seen that, super underrated and slept on COMEDY.

like for real funny.

i got so many movies to watch, currently watching "wild"

i cannot get into boyhood, way too boring.

also watched "cake" with jennifer aniston which was good i give it 7.5 out of 10.

john wick 8 out of 10 since it was full of action plus the dog made that movie interesting, honestly i cannot watch anything with keanu.

inherent vice SUCKED 4.5 out of 10.

kill the messenger was ok 7 out of 10 its something interesting to watch

same with a most violent year

big eyes 8 out of 10 because it also was a true story.

laggies was decent 7 out of 10.

i still have unbroken, american sniper, imitation game, the gambler, the identical, the retrieval and more.

Oh, Dwight Schrute as an investigator who doesn't get along well with people/peasants?

Network television is unanimously outdated, overwhelmed with stupidity and stubborn to a fault about conformity. Yeah, roll out American Idol again. Oh, 24 ended so funnel money into TOUCH with the exact same actor? Oh that didn't work damn maybe bring back the show he was in before TOUCH yeah yeah :smokin

Married people - I imagine Gone Girl was a hard one to see with the wife. I just know from pure observation of people I know that are married that there were definite truths to the issues that were wedging them a part. Obviously what happened thereafter is not relatable, but.

I hear the show The Affair is causing some awkwardness among married people. I haven't watched it yet but hear it's really good.

The Affair is really good. Worth the look.

And I'm looking forward to Rainn Wilson playing Doctor House but as a homicide detective  :pimp:

He's essentially Patrick Jane without the what-should-be-annoying cocky quirkiness.

 There's several ways to describe him if you do it based off of existing detectives/smart guys on tv.

I say House simply cuz ppl seem to not like him and he's antisocial.

Speaking of Jane, while he's still the same, this final season is ending real lack luster. It's like a random season of all episodic one and done stories with no connective tissue to a larger plot in any sense whether it be mystery or even romance.

That redhead on The Mentalist, good lord. I would love her forever. Used to watch episodes a lot on tnt but started watching Castle now. I'm not interested in keeping up with these new story every episode shows anymore but i'll be channel surfing and the episode plots will draw me in every time.

you just hate fox but seriously you're right. Network tv has been very stagnant minus a few shows I like.

Just finished watching "the fighter"

This has to be david o Russell's best movie to date right?

- love the performances he got in this and he tells and cohesive story (unlike american hustle, which I still haven't sat down and watched all the way through.. And have no clue what it is really about)

And am I the only one who only sees marky mark in every wahlberg movie?

Like I really wish they got a different actor for the Micky ward part.. The only movie that I really think was better for having wahlberg in it, was the departed.. I can't even think of anyone else for the other parts of the fighter

He's been in some really good movies, obviously.. But like boogie nights and the fighter I think those movies could be better with someone else in the lead role

Meant to watch that a few years back but, I never see it shown on TV anymore. Still gotta see that movie with Tom Hardy where he fights his brother too.

My favorite David O Russell film is Silver Linings Playbook, I always watch it whenever I catch it on tv but The Fighter is a great movie too. Bale is amazing in it.

Marky Mark is perfect as Dirk Diggler, I can't see anybody else from around '97 would could have done that role better imo. I still can't picture how the film would have been if Leo had done it.

As much as I love boogie nights... That's exactly what I'm talking about.. He was just mehhh in it to me.. I'm not sure who else I would want for the role, but that would still be a great movie without him in my opinion
