CP, what redeeming qualities do you find in Starship Troopers?

Same to you and SemiPro, manup.

Or are those like, there's no explanation, and they don't fit the detailed appreciations you have for other movies; you just like them?
well i love will farrels sports movies and i love basketball

so put them together and you get an entertaining movie

i honestly had no idea that most people hated this movie until i looked up its RT rating the other week

semi-related:

Semi pro did kinda suck. Tho i can watch it multiple times and I don't know why lol. Kinda like Bad Boys 2. Which was nowhere near the movie as the first Bad Boys.

"Eyes Wide Shut" was a movie that I just watched that was really wild. Gotta be able to see the forest through the trees for that one tho. Kinda like Inception but not really.

You talking about how some of the women at the party rocked bushes?

All Female cast Ghostbusters given the green light. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon to lead - http://wp.me/p2CCWq-3Zv
Man, I wish they would have chosen  Jenny Slate instead of Kate McKinnon.

Don't know if I want to see McKinnon on film for the first time,  with Wiig. This is a theater watch for me though, 100%.

Of course, man. The legend Jackie Earle Haley. Was the bad *** pitcher kid in the first Bad News Bears movie, then basically disappeared off the face of the Earth, then had a huge resurrgence in the 2000s. Guy has definitely played a pretty wide range of roles.

Looks more like a SNL skit with Melissa hosting than ANYTHING else

Agree, but I have to admit I was lukewarm at best on the idea of any new Ghostbusters movie after Harold Ramis passed and with Bill Murray not into it. Very unexcited about this.

Why not concentrate on doing well made new movies (instead of remakes or reboots as they're now calling them)... :rolleyes

Wow, Child 44 has a really nice cast. In addition to Oldman, Hardy, & Noomi Rapace, the flick also has Jason Clarke, Vincent Cassel, & Dev Patel... :smokin

Remakes aren't a thing, or a trend,  they will always be. Doesn't take away from any other importance in Hollywood, just don't watch em'

They need to take old movies that had good premises but we're poorly executed and remake those..

Or go completely different with it

Or if it's a special effects driven film and technology improves vastly from when the original was made

Look at scarface and ocean's eleven.. The resent remake of Carrie was an excellent opportunity that they completely missed on

They need to remake 47 Ronin again & forget all that fantasy BS they did with the recent one & just make a ballin' *** epic Samurai flick... That's such an epic legend & they effed it all up with the recent remake.
