The first Ted wasn't even that good so I'm not sure what yall talking about

This is par for the course in Hollywood. Slightly funny, mostly bad comedy gets sequel cuz it made just enough money back.

It's not a classic or anything but I enjoyed the first one. Not a must own though

American Psycho :pimp:
on of my all time faves :pimp:

hip to be square :pimp:
I watched this like a week ago on Sundancetv and noticed the guide had this under the genre of comedy

I did a double take. I didn't take any of it as parody or satire. I looked at it as a real menacing psychotic rich white yuppie living in the 80s/90s NYC. Sure I laughed at some things but the movie is tense and eerie.

totally different movie if you watch it as a comedy

everything bale does is hilarious

Messed up.

I watched it so many times seeing it one way.

I'd be comparing Bates to Bateman.

However, certain scenes like the one with Reese where he dumps her and near the end after the mass hallucination killing spree where they keep harping that they're not going anywhere without a reservation was clear the writing was making fun of these types of ppl.

Also, I wonder if there were any out there theories about the end cuz the part where he goes back to the apt to clean up all mess and bodies after he leaves a message for his friend and it's already done and the realtor lady tells him it's already been taken care of and not to come back was weird.

some say that everything was in his head

ive read that when its presented in the book it's clear that the realtor just cleaned everything out and didnt report any crimes to keep the property value up (she too only cares about money and status like everyone else in the movie)

Hated American Psycho and still believe him getting away with it is a load of ****.
that was the movies social commentary, people are so stuck up that they are thinking about themselves too much to notice a crazy murderer right in front of their eyes

movies where the bad guys win though

I can't imagine a movie that well-written would end it with her rationalizing being janitor for the remains of the Huey Lewis victims & risking being an accomplice instead of freaking out like a normal person would on the grounds of it helping 'property value'

thats the point of the movie though, no one gives a **** about anything other than social status. she didnt care about the dead bodies and all the guys he admitted stuff too didnt care enough to even know his name (running joke of the movie is people mistaking eachother's names since everyone dresses, looks and acts the same)

I think there's a lot of truth to what you mean about living in their own, personal utopian "geocentric" (lol idk) world that blinds them from what's happening around them but I interpreted the ending as being unrelated to that.

The look you can catch on his face for a split-second when he's leaving the dry cleaners after bumping into the woman who recognized him just sticks with you when you go back and look for it. The blatant feign of happy to see her and small talk and then just as the door's closing and he whips around you see his face suddenly turn into a chilling, empty "I'm taking off my mask now that I'm done speaking with you" look. Crazy man. :smh:

Yeah I got that, just wasn't my taste. Though, it is refreshing to see the bad guy prevail for once.

American Psycho = classic....... I was lost at the end... I didnt understand was he just imagining all the things that happened or what..... but this is a great movie about social elitism.... I really enjoyed the scene where they all went out to eat lunch or something and everybody was like i got the bill, no i got the bill and every bust out heavy *** credit cards.... he looks at the bill and was like (insert ridiculous number) this isnt that bad lol........ Movie is awesome

American Psycho was supposed to be Leo. :smh:

I'm happy to have learned about Bale from it, but if Leo had taken that role........... :frown:
