Obviously his style worked for 300 and I think it worked with watchmen too (film just needed some changes, not visually though)
Would love to see him do spawn, blade or his own stand alone batman film(s).. Hell would like to see him do a proper film version of the dark knight returns, with supes as the government pawn and everything
But don't think he is the right guy to handle all those characters together and especially superman, ww, Shazam, cyborg, flash and green lantern.. Don't know about aquaman other than the DC comic movies
I don't have much faith. I liked Man of Steel, it was good, but not great. The same issues I had with that I expect will be the same issues I have with this one.. except this one will feel a bit more overstuffed. Man of Steel had so much good going for it, but it never connected for me.
Snyder can do a great job of showing you a lot of cool scenes, but those scenes and moments can feel hollow and not as genuine. Fun and exciting moments, but the storytelling to get you there might suffer. And fitting in multiple characters, setting up an expanded universe is not light work. Even Wheedon and the "Marvel Gods" struggled with that in Age of Ultron.
I don't think Batman v. Superman will flop or be Fantastic Four status, but I think it'll be very similar to Man of Steel.. good/decent reviews, but fans and critics will have a lot of strong opinions about it. This is a huge deal to see these two going at it, and I don't think people are 100% on board with how DC has been handling it. Still feels a bit rushed, not confident in Snyder at all, and this trailer doesn't inspire a ton of confidence for those who have been more critical.
