Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Personal thread favorite, I would imagine most in here had it as their favorite of last year (my 2nd favorite).
I expect him to have been using it for years tbh.

Definitely a good thread.
Super late on whiplash but an instant classic for sure.
Gonna check out the gift or straight outta Compton tonight?

Thoughts on either?

Sidenote: has anyone else worked the /8 rating scale into their normal life?
If Rck doesn't respond to that question with a resounding "yes," I am going to be very disappointed.

I personally, have not

Yeah, I've probably been using it for like 2, maybe 3 years now

I tried it out in Europe and the UK and it really seemed to catch on. Made for some great pub discussions/game

Hopefully more people spread the word of the /8 scale

It's always cool when you've blown off a show for several seasons and finally pick it up when it's 3 or 4 seasons deep.

The feeling knowing you have that "new show" to pass time with for the next few months, while you catch up with a binge.

Some of you are going to remember this post when you finally pick up Mr. Robot 2 or 3 years from now.

i hate catching a show in the first season then having to wait so long for it to conclude . i was upset that i had to wait along time for breaking bad even though i didnt catch on to it until the end. i binged watched it in two weeks, season 1-4 and it was on hiatus for season 5. im already upset that mr robot 1st season just ended., i havent seen the last two episodes yet .

its a different experience keeping up with a show instead of just watching it all in one chunk

there was that cliffhanger in BB where hank was on the toilet and it was a huge deal for all us fans since we had to wait months to see what happened next

but for someone just watching breaking bad now its just on to the next episode without putting much thought into it

for sure

not saying its better, just different

personally i like being able to watch everything at once, but if im hooked to a good tv show im not going to wait until the season is over to watch it all at once

I haven't watched Alpha Dog since it came out way back.

I didn't now Amanda Siefried was in it.

Olivia Wilde too, but I haven't seen her just yet.

Sometimes it sucks missing out on the weekly discussions and the moments not being spoiled.. Other times its cool to get the whole thing in one sitting.

Biggest downside to catching up later is spoilers. I'm catching up on House of Cards and spoiled alot of stuff just because I'm reading about the show and then come across something I didn't want to see

Watching 'remember the Titans' and it's amazing watching this movie all these years later

this is true, i would always rather watch all the episodes at once

but having to read through 40 pages of NT discussion on the show you just spent a day watching is a lot to read

caught up on some relatively recent movies on the flight home

Inside Out 8/8

Terminator Genesis or whatever 3/8

Fast 7 6.5/8, and piqued my interest enough to watch the rest of the series now

im different on that man. i hate surprises. i can know how a story ends and still watch it. spoilers dont bother me one bit or keep me from not wanting to watch something im into.

same here, sometimes i'll read the entire plot of a movie on wikipedia then decide if the movie is worth watching or not

Yeah, I've never stopped watching a show because of spoilers.. I just can't help myself but read about the show as I'm watching.. and then I spoil something.
