Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Let's talk about how Ryan Coogler is batting 1000% so far. He's only going to get better and his style of shooting/writing is phenomenal.

On another note, MBJ and Tessa chemistry was on point.

Forreals thanks J.

I was already gonna see it but your review
Combined with the 94% on RT :smile:eek) got me HYPED AS HELL to go watch.

Can't wait :pimp:

Much props to Coogler but c'mon he's only made 2 movies. So even if I take it for granted Creed is great, it's still just 2.

That's like me being the reason my team beats 2 playoff teams in a row and saying I'm batting 1000%

Great start.

Just read about Knight of Cups, a Terrance Malick film starring Bale, Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett. Undeniably great cast, but my impression is that if you like Malick's movies generally, particularly the recent ones, you'll probably enjoy this one too. If you don't like his stuff, don't bother. I'm going to pass.

Happy Thanksgiving

So I guess I'm doing a Rocky marathon after I saw Creed.

I'm on Rocky III right now. I remember as a kid loving Rocky II a lot more than Rocky.. boy was I a dumb kid. It was only because Rocky wins at the end, but as an adult I'd pick Rocky III over II, easily. It's worth it for Creed and Rocky becoming friends.. that alone makes it awesome.

It tells a better story but still gives you the campy, silly Rocky stuff. The bromance between Rocky and Apollo, running on the beach, the training montages, Hulk Hogan

, it's so silly but it's still a good story.

The original Rocky still holds up even if it's your first time seeing it now. Rocky I-V are all on Netflix.

Rocky II is still good, Rocky III is a solid movie with enough silly 80s tropes thrown in, Rocky IV is an objectively bad movie.. but it's so silly and cheesy you can't help but like it.

Rocky V doesn't exist to me. I've honestly seen it once when I was like 9 and never again.

Rocky Balboa is surprisingly decent.

Creed is amazing.

If all Rocky's had to be erased except one, I'm keeping IV

Best Movie songs of all time.

If I'm on my last leg and have no will to fight, put on the IV song ( No Way Out) where he's driving late at night after Apollo dies and his wife just said "you can't win", and I'm rejuvenated and giving anybody the hands.

That or the Katate Kid song (You're the Best)

Spotlight is the best film I've seen so far this year. Perfection on so many levels. Tom McCarthy directs the film with the perfect amount of balance, as it straddles the line of thriller and drama. The film never loses focus, there's never any cheesy or silly subplot, this is simply all about the story at hand. The Church covering up for priests, and a team of 4 journalists digging to find out why. Mark Ruffalo gives an Oscar worthy performance, won't be surprised if we see him hoisting the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The rest of the cast was beautifully selected as Keaton follows up his Academy Award nomination from last year with another powerful performance leading the Spotlight team.

Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, John Slattery, Stanley Tucci, and others round out a phenomenal ensemble. Spotlight is one of those films that tackles an uncomfortable topic, but does so in unwavering fashion. There is no pandering to the religious crowd, there is no easing up on the matter of separation of church and state. You're immersed in the process of these writers and their passion to uncover the truth.

To the skeptics of the Catholic Church and or religion, this film will only strengthen your stance. You'll question how it's even possible that people are brainwashed by an organization that claims to stand for Good and God, yet also conduct business like Tony Soprano and the mafia.

Expect to see Spotlight in contention for Best Picture, along with Best Supporting Actor and possibly a Screenplay and Director award. A brilliant film on all fronts.

**** im going to have to check out spotlight now.

After watching Creed last night I had it as my MOTY. Watching Mad Max now pretty nice visual for the most part and sound
