There's two types of people in this world:

1) "How long is it?! Seven HOURS

2) "Yo, seven hours of Brando, De Niro, Pacino, etc... IN

I'm of the latter breed, papis

Just finished The Hateful Eight, and I thought it was underwhelming for a Tarantino flick.

Among my crowd, I'm probably seen as a QT fanboy and I thought people were being haters when they were saying how they hated it. However, I can understand the perspective now. The story went along at a steady pace with excitement and violence, however the characters fell flat to me and the dialogue was good, but something was missing and made most of the bloodshed seem... extra (it could be that I didn't like any of the characters, except for Major and maybe Mannix, and that's still a maybe). Major was a cool character, probably my 2nd favorite Sam Jackson portrayal after Jules. The explanations were clever although jarring since it "told" me, more than it "showed" me and pulled me out of it. The movie felt almost like a parody of a Tarantino film.

Re watched Famtastic Mr Fox. Love it.

Sometimes I play a small game with friends where I say the name of an actor and they give me the first performance, big or small, that comes to mind for that actor. Just out of curiosity no biggie. If you told me Depp or Leo I would say Gilbert Grape. Random I know but you guys were talking about the movie.

Sucks when your friends aren't that movie savvy and they don't know have the actors you name. Double the fun if you can use directors and cinematographers.

I write this at the risk of giving the wrong impression of my wife, but I just watched like 45 minutes of Straight Outta Compton with her and it was exhausting. "Wait, who's that?" "Which one stays with Jerry? " Who is that who went with Suge?" Like every five minutes.

I'm definitely the guy who feels compelled to say what other works I know an actor/actress from when they make their first appearance during the movie/ TV show that I'm watching

wes anderson's style is so much fun
Bruh, this!

I watched his 3 most known films on HBO GO (first time) when they had a section dedicated solely to his films last year & loved all of them.

His movies make you feel like you're reading a comic book

I don't think that characteristic is solely limited to your wife but women in general.

My sister-in-law is THEE WORST when it comes to this

I'd go NUTS if I was in my brother's shoes trying to watch a movie with that woman.

Seen all his films and my personal ranking is

Grand Budapest > Moonrise > Royal Tannenbaums > Fantastic Mr. Fox > Rushmore > Life Aquatic > Darjeeling Limited > Bottle Rocket

But I like them all. A lot.

I hate watching movies and tv with ppl like this. My dad be asking dumb questions and this girl who is a friend would do the same ****.

I had to struggle this past week watching The Expanse, Colony, The Blacklist, Soldier Story, and Michael Collins. Like I'm not watching this so I can just inform you of the backstory with every single question you have and then listen to you tell me how this is similar to a plot to another movie/tv show you watched one time that IS NOT SIMILAR AT ALL. I watched it so I could enjoy it.

he's one of those unique filmmakers where if you take a random frame in any of his movies you will instantly know it's one of his own movies

a tiny detail that I thought was awesome was the paragraph following the chapter title in royal tannenbaums describing the next scene

would rather have this than the guy who has seen the movie/episode before and goes out of his way to try and explain everything
