Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

My son loves Pokémon.

I love my son.

So we dealt cards and battled. :smokin Errr, he battled. I learned.

(Was just us 2.)
this is legit the only time I've ever heard of people actually playing the pokemon card game

game night sounds dope though :pimp:
They use to play it all the time when it was new.

Plus I'm sure the hardcore nerd turned adult still plays it if they're in to it like some still play Magic the Gathering.

Then you got good parents like Ska, forced to play because their children chose wrong

I was more of a yugioh kid

was undefeated in 4th grade

still have my yellow version on deck though, brought it to summer camp last year and it was crazy to think the kid I let play with it was younger than the gameboy

Pokemon was huge when I was in primary. Card game too. I know someone who gets invited to t he World Champs most years. Pretty

I'm more so surprised Pokemon is still popular.

I used to play the card game as a kid but I never played it the right way (by the official rules).

never did or got pokemon or any of those other types of stuff.. don't get world of war craft either

never got final fantasy or any of those types of games.. didn't get sims or those types of games

never got into candy crush.. or Farmville or any of the other crap that was going on facebook

I stuck to fighting and sport games.. and I played a ton of sports growing up so always had some sort of practice or game or meet going 6/7 days of the week

vikander is doing the damn thing with ex machina, the Danish girl, this.. only misstep I can really throw her way is that awful seventh son movie

I think you have to give her a pass for that. Seems like these days all good, young actors and actresses get talked into starring in at least one lame YA novel series adaptation of something similar. If they otherwise do good work, I'll willing to overlook one or two missteps like that.

JB is getting real close to not getting a pass for his terrible movie role choices

Honestly think he's moved into that "just cashing checks" phase of his career like Robert DeNiro. He's been a lot of bad stuff recently.

Same here.

Well, sorta.

Same on those first 3 lines, sorta the same on the last line. Was always into sports, but wasn't allowed to play.

Was definitely into fighting for... too long. Not video games. Just knuckleheaded.

I get you.. gotta get that public appeal and plus doesn't hurt to get the continuous check if it turns into a series
Jeff Bridges was in that too.
so was julianne moore.. and jon snow

I was already in for that when I saw the pics of him on set. thought it was a movie.

Still in for the show :smokin

Looks like FX/BBC got another hit on their hands.

:wow:

Do you guys think that the story will continue to revolve around his character after the first season (assuming it's a hit & gets renewed) or this is FX's attempt of creating their own version of a True Detective type show?

Because Hardy's a bonafide movie star in his prime... I don't see why he'd commit long term to a television series.

I know we're leading with it's FX but BBC is involved too.

I can see this being something Hardy sticks with cuz there's only 6 eps a season or the next season is years away

Well bbc been putting out quality stuff for a while.. Smart of fx to piggyback of off British shows gaining popularity in the states

Could see them letting them/him have a Louise type deal.. Which is what they do over there anyways.. Where the stars do it when they have time, like cumberbatch and Sherlock

Plus the show/script was Tom Hardys creation/idea. Him and his father are the main brains behind it. So I def see him being with this show for the long haul

it might only last one season like a lot of British miniseries where they're only intended to be 1 regardless of how well they do

i been trying to put people on this show he did some years back for a while
