I don't hate him for his sexual orientation but I don't respect him more for it. I don't understand why these dudes are glorified.

Not even really a frank ocean fan so I don't really care though.

Man I don't think there ever were rumors which is the crazy thing.

there were though...like...even in THIS thread they were being talked about
What started them? I never heard anything.

the whole industry is now gonna embrace this dude because he's now certified gay. watch a surge of "ohh yea we respect you dude cause u came out the closet" type attitude from different artists. yea it's good he shared his orientation but for real what the hell is going on with the music industry? they are already pushing the gay agenda to the point u got dudes wearing feminime clothing. times have changed, and the music industry is gonna get more open about other artists sexual orientation.

n what songs?

"My eyes dont shed tears...but BOY they bawl when I think about ya..."
First thing I thought of. At first I thought it was like "BOY as is I really bawl"  not "male you make me cry when I think about you" ...
It's whatever though.

I expect a duet at the Grammys with Elton John within the next 5 years. It's really going to be interesting to see how this dude blows up. ( no pun intended) I told ya'll years ago that half of the industry is gay and aot you chastised me. This was the ultimate career move for dude. He's about to huge now.

This time last year there were rumors that a new songwriter/singer was bisexual.
People just assumed it was The Weeknd

My only problem is when they try & force that #**$ stuff on you like Lady Gaga.

LOL @ the thread title.

He's going to gain MANY fans, especially that are about that life

GET OVER IT. you might not agree with it, and that's fine.. but to stop listening to an artist you ALREADY listened to and now you won't because you find out something about his personal life you don't agree with..

i don't know how you dudes only listen to songs just to be like "oh this is what this is about, definitely.. it's about a guy and him and that's it! it has no meaning to myself at all" - let the dude talk about whatever he wants, as long as he's not adding skits of him sucking ****... it's whatever to me, i listen to music to put my own meaning behind it unless it's clear cut that its about a certain experience/event/person.. then I get it.
Actually, according to a journalist, on CO, he does indeed mention males ...

Pretty much what I was thinking when I heard about this. But yeah on his oldie verse I'm pretty sure he said "I'm high & I'm Bi awake....I mean I'm straight", like damn I took that as he was dozing in & out.

Frank my N I hate It had to be him.......

Nah I still can rock with his music, just if it's CLEARLY a song about another male I'll skip it. Point blank.

Agreed.  At this point, sexual orientation means nothing to me and has no bearing on whether or not I listen to a certain artist.
But him "coming out" also means nothing to me, either.  I'm not giving anyone props for being who they are.  Why?  Because we're in the year 2012 now, which is the same argument people use against anyone who may oppose being gay (which I do not).

If we can say "its 2012--get over the fact that there are gay people out there", then we can also say "cool coming out story, bro--its 2012 and there are gay people out there".

I guess my point is that this shouldn't be a big deal.  He's gay/bi in 2012.  Shocker.

Well I haven't heard it yet.. but from his previous work, there are no flat out songs dedicated to males that we can tell.. only red herrings that people are just now checkin' for since the letter came to surface from himself.
Even if, it's whatever.. if the music is good.. more power to 'em.

Like most are saying.. no props given if he's gay/bi either.. it's music.. listen to it for what it is.

every site, just like Complex, did an article similar to this that got twitter and forums talking.
Oh yea I seen that I thought ya'll were saying there were rumors like months ago. The only reason those rumors came out was because of the pre album release party's. He sort of leaked that out himself.

I commend him for his free-spiritedness and his decision to come out.
But I won't lie, I'm extremely disappointed and shocked. It sucks to say but I won't listen to the music the same way anymore.

He's still a musical genius, wish him the best.
