held out until today... overall it was a very good album.

-the end of my sub part 3 is so smooth :smokin
-cadillactica BANGS
-pay attention was one of my most anticipated tracks off the album... krit x raphael saadiq didn't disappoint
-mind control is such a dope track, i just wish he got different features for it :lol:
-standby is the perfect interlude
-saturdays = celebration might be the front runner for my favorite track off my first listen
-lupe the killer on lost generation... that's vintage lu right there
-needless to say im keeping my OG version of mt. olympus :lol:

i just wish we got a classic krit sounding / sampled soul track on here... i kinda had a feeling we wouldn't though with clearance issues, but those are always my favorite from him.

this album will stay in rotation for a while though :pimp:
 
I dig the album, maybe only 2-3 songs i wasn't really feeling. Didn't expect to like the reprise version of Mt Olympus, cause usually when a song gets changed like that, the beat ends up stinking, but that one was still good. The sequencing of tracks 3-8 :smokin Mind Control and Mo Better Cool are def the standouts for me
 
Bought the best buy deluxe version.  Will post a small review after i get through the record 2 or 3 more times.

Right now....i am really feeling it.  So glad he was able to put together an album that rivals his excellent mixtapes.

Edit: Just watched the needledrop review.  Strong 6....nah.  Then to trash Lupe's verse and say its talking down to people...its called the truth.  Only some one on a high horse that thinks they are so smart would find this to be condescending.  The point of the verse was to be ironic.  And it hit so hard.

after a few more full listens,i really like the album minus My Sub.

i wish he would have replaced My Sub 3 with New Agenda
 
I haven't felt like this about a album in a LONGGGGG time. This is what music is about. I'm not going to compare it to this or that or name the wack tracks or nothing. Honestly, I can play the album all the way through. The rap game needed something like this.
 
I'm kind of surprised Fantano gave this a strong 6, light 7. He's usually more harsh on reviews where he has a significant amount of criticism.

I like the first half of this album, and I actually don't mind he guest verses by Wiz Khalifa and Lupe Fiasco, two guys whom I have basically given up on since about 2009. But the second half of this album slows way down.

My two main beefs are Angels ("I think angels get high... cause I can't describe, all these clouds in the sky... I think god must have cried" what?? that's so corny) and completely taking the hype out of Mount Olympus by removing the sample. I get the legal issues, but you couldn't replicate that sample with other vocals? Or a brass section? Or a string section? The removal of that melody just kills (in my opinion) likely the best track KRIT's ever made.

The album's ok, it will probably sit about fourth on the list of albums/mixtapes that I listen to when I want KRIT, though.
 
My Sub is meant for subs in the car. Feel kinda funny blasting it knowing I got two 12s :lol:
