Look, there are worse people to emulate than Outkast or UGK or Scarface or 8Ball and MJG. If we rapped, we’d be using them as touchstones as well. But at the end of the day, we’re stoked for Big KRIT to eventually emerge from their (large) shadows a fully formed artist. It can and should happen. Maybe not until he finally releases a real album—like, a for real NON INTERNET MIXTAPE album. ReturnOf4Eva as well as his previous mixtapes still seem like a test run for the real thing. As ReturnOf4Eva is an extremely reverent Southern rap tape with plenty of bright moments. It’s well worth your time and your zero dollars, but KRIT could also stand to loosen up a bit, and that could happen when he steps out from behind the safety blanket of his predecessors.

Completely disagree. KWH was oozing with influence (in a good way). The first thing I thought when I finished Return of 4eva was my dude is here. He's emerged, this is pure K.R.I.T. How anybody could come to the conclusion that he's hiding behind his predecessors after actually listing to this album is beyond me. UGK, Kast, Ball/MJG, Face, as much as I love em, them n_'s don't own a patent on southern culture and sound. It's like it's illegal to have a drawl and rap about pimpin on some slightly introspective tip if you didn't drop pre '98. Yawn.Originally Posted by Ace Rawstein

debating with my friends about the j cole/ krit comparison....as far as production goes..i feel like their beat making is pretty even..as far as flow goes, i feel as tho j cole sounds better on beats imo...krit has more substance to me tho..cole is getting kinda boring now..Originally Posted by sneakaprince
End up putting a few people on Krit ever since I heard Krit was here...
Got in a huge twitter convo with my boys about how KRIT is essentially better than J. Cole and Dom and Rich Boy (he needed a real Bama rapper)
I will prolly be one of the dudes to actually give Krit that 20 when I get paid next week. Dude is easily my fav dude out right now. Fear of God Mixtape is officially thrown out the window until this joint is too scratched up to play again
