Maybe not until he finally releases a real album—like, a for real NON INTERNET MIXTAPE album. ReturnOf4Eva as well as his previous mixtapes still seem like a test run for the real thing. As ReturnOf4Eva is an extremely reverent Southern rap tape with plenty of bright moments. It’s well worth your time and your zero dollars, but KRIT could also stand to loosen up a bit, and that could happen when he steps out from behind the safety blanket of his predecessors.

So because this isn't an album released on a record label, it somehow means he can't be a "fully formed artist"?  SMH...this guy is more of a fully formed artist than most rappers signed to major labels.

Dude sounds stupid .
He would be praised by the whole hipster-music blog-sphere if he sounded completely odd like lil b or golf wang. He would be heralded as the next great rap prospect if he was like Nas or Kool G or any new york rapper the hipster-blogsphere loves to fake like they are huge fans of.
Krit stands on his own two feet musically and uses the Souths rich musical history as a template and an inspiration.Seldomly do we here a rapper in general that has songs that knock in the truck and can spit .He can brag and remain humble .Dude is the southern every man.He doesn't run from his roots or beg for others.Dude is carrying on tradition right now and he is a much needed rapper from the south dude is spitting and he represents aspects of every state below the Dixie. He has made it extremely far to say he hasn't had a bunch of cosigns or a thousand features from other artist to bust himself to the limelight.

Completely disagree. KWH was oozing with influence (in a good way). The first thing I thought when I finished Return of 4eva was my dude is here. He's emerged, this is pure K.R.I.T. How anybody could come to the conclusion that he's hiding behind his predecessors after actually listing to this album is beyond me. UGK, Kast, Ball/MJG, Face, as much as I love em, them n_'s don't own a patent on southern culture and sound. It's like it's illegal to have a drawl and rap about pimpin on some slightly introspective tip if you didn't drop pre '98. Yawn.

and I swear I'm gonna e-smack the next idiot to downplay this album as a mixtape. N_ this aint +%#@@% GangstaGrillz/Trapaholics/Burn One. This is 100% original music crafted and engineered with the intent of achieving perfection. Dude is a +$#@$#! for that, do people call the last couple of Radiohead joints "mixtapes" (not comparing him to them, but if it being free makes it any less of an album than we need to uphold the standard across the board) ???

Yes, I realize I'm being entirely overly defensive but sometimes it's like these new dudes just can't win in certain circles. $#%+ is played.

edit: ThorrocksJs put what I was trying to say into words much better.

I will prolly be one of the dudes to actually give Krit that 20 when I get paid next week. Dude is easily my fav dude out right now. Fear of God Mixtape is officially thrown out the window until this joint is too scratched up to play again
debating with my friends about the j cole/ krit comparison....as far as production goes..i feel like their beat making is pretty even..as far as flow goes, i feel as tho j cole sounds better on beats imo...krit has more substance to me tho..cole is getting kinda boring now..
