How To Effectively Protect Your Skin From The Sun

What tools, tips, or tricks can I implement into my life in order to prevent my skin from getting darker, skin peeling, contracting skin cancer, etc.
I usually run in the Cali heat, no hat, no sunscreen.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also please state where I can buy said products if you make a recommendation.

Yes, this is a serious question. Thank you for the input. What type of sunscreen do you use? I don't know any brands let alone brands that are good. I'm black if that matters.

i use this daily on my face after i get out of the shower.

i don't use sunscreen on my body unless i am gonna be outside like 2+ hours with my shirt off.

I didn't know they made sunscreen just for the face.
Edit: I just searched for this product on walmart.com but IDK which one it is. If you could help direct me to the right one it would be very appreciated.
