Neglected 1989 Nike Air Basketball High Top Sneakers

word I always wanted nike 2 retro all da nike flights true hi and when they do ill get all in a hartbeat.

How do you know nobody  would buy them? They literally have never released any true high tops from the era...1989-1995.

All it takes is a good energy release or some big time hip-hop artist wearing these and its over these type of shoes are back in style hardcore, Then Nike will OD it, we'll go from having no high top releases to being flooded with them.

all of those pictured i have in my collection. but i would not mind a retro. to hell with value of the og, bring out the retro so todays kids can anjoy what i enjoyed back then. cmon nike stop being stupid, you big head.

I really think if these were 2 come back out i think da flight highs will sell out maybe not in one day but dont expect em 2 be on da shelves for 2 long esp in a decent colorway, and who wouldnt cop these if your a so called true sneakerhead, these are a must for any  fan like myself. Nike make it happin fingers crossed

Don't you want a retro so you can also enjoy them the way they should be enjoyed - on feet, not on a shelf? Been a long time since I've seen anyone actually
wearing an original Air Flight. The Forces hold up much better obviously.

I can't tell how many pairs of socks D.Rob has on right here, but those sneakers look like STS'.

Know what I mean?

Flight 89's are my favorite shoe of all time. I'm always on the lookout for the classic colorways.

Part of me wants the Air Flight High to retro so badly.....had them in 9th grade.  If they came out in the white/royal blue colorway that I had back in the day (some dude on NT has them in his avy) it'd be in instant cop.

Then I remember what Nike does to retros, and I lose a bit of excitment.

As long as they stick to OG colors, I'm ok with the crappy quality...ok, no cracking midsoles please.

oh yeah no doubt i would love for them to retro so that i could rock em as well. i don't know guys but when ever nike retro's a flight, or an old school basketball kicks.....don't you think they do a good job? i say this because i have a few pairs of early 90's retro bball kicks and when i put em on there made so well.

I have a few pairs of retro Flight 89's, and yes Nike did a great job on them.  The leather would only be found on "premium" releases today.  Now, when I compare em to some of my JB retros  I just end up laughing.

I want to show these examples to inform that Nike has been successful with late '80s high top basketball sneakers on the limited occasion they release something
in that vein. Case in point -1988. All three of these retroed and sold out in my area. Even with the slight variations from the originals.

I woke up wondering about this today. I was specifically wondering why the folks at Nike haven't retroed the high top Forces from the early 90's like the Air Command Force, Air Force Five, Air Ultra Force High, Air Force 180 or Air Force High (had a pair of all red Air Force lows back in high school

). It just seems to me that between the older guys feening for a retro and with some of the kicks the kids are wearing today some of these retros from the late 80's and early 90's would sell very well.

Heck, if they don't think they'll sell very well or if they'd like to test the waters they could release one or two as a somewhat limited general release. I've sure they wouldn't sit on the shelves.

There was some suggestion Nike no longer have the patent on the inflation system used in the Command Forces and 180 highs.

Even a Retro of the Air Force V Hi would do me fine.

IM ACTUALLY PARTING WITH MY SAMURI AF III'S BC I NEED MONEY... STILL HAVE MY RED ASSAULTS

..

I would definitely consider copping if Mr. Robinson's 180 would be retro-ed.
But if it's true that Nike has lost the patent to retro those 180's & STS's,
Air Force V would definitely be fine for me just like the above guy!!
