THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Official Thread - 6/28 - TV Spot 10 on Last Page (More Selina Kyle)

Finally caught it, don't know why it make me Weebay.gif once they disclosed who Ra al Ghul's seed was after playing Arkham Asylum.

Saw it today, great ending to the trilogy. I knew Hardy was gonna kill it as Bane, dude is a star. Most likely will see it again.

Will be catching this again on the weekend.. I don't give a damb if I have to go alone, my body is asking to see it again.

Dude. The movie ended with Batman being still alive and him being called Robin. How more obvious do you want it to be that he's Robin? He's gonna be some random "unknown hero" that's named Robin? No.
Well, a few other people seem to believe he won't become the Robin that we are used to so maybe it's not that obvious. It's open to interpretation. So his first name is Robin, then he'll become a hero named Robin? I think Nolan gave him that first name to get a chuckle from the audience. Nolan and Bale made it clear that he wouldn't show up in the movies. Blake is a new hero that will rise and be the protector of Gotham. I did read somewhere that John was D. Grayson's middle name and that his cover was being a cop. So if that's accurate then maybe Nolan did intend for them to be the same person but he changed it around.

just saw it...def dope! 8.5/10 although after i re watch ill prob take that back for a higher rating

Saw it for a second time today. Picked up on a lot things that tied the film, and the trilogy together that I didn't catch the first time.

Talia's death might be most poorly acted death in the history of cinema, though.

I can see her wanting to one up Ra's. But is that said in her speed or even alluded to? I don't remember

May be I'm reaching, but I have given it considerable thought since I liked her character so much (I love women villains), I think it is clear that she was completely insane and wanted multiple things with mixed feelings.

I mean you have to be pretty wacked out to sleep with your Father's killer, right? But, you notice she is obsessed with Bruce from the beginning. Yes, that could be taken as trying to attain his trust for her plan, but there seemed to be another deeper and more twisted reasoning.

Could it be possible that yes she did want to exact revenge on her Father AND she also wanted his approval and may be to "one up" him?

And, since Batman had already done this (killed Ra's), she felt both attracted by him and anger towards him since he was able to exact his AND her revenge on Ra's. But, he still killed her Father. So this lead to conflicting feelings of desire for him but also anger that she couldn't be the one to "exact the revenge"? Additionally, she was unable to get her Father's approval and/or "one up" him due to Batman killing him already so that made her want revenge on Batman.

So my take is she was all effed up by these mixed feelings. Leading her to want to: Sleep with Batman, Kill Batman, Get revenge on her Father, and attain her Father's approval/ "one up him".

Reaching? LOL. I thought about this too much :x

Indeed, Talia's motivations are complex.

At the reveal, she mentions that she wants that after Bane was ex-communicated from the LOS that she could not forgive her father until Batman murdered him. Yet, she also says that she wants to honor her father by, "finishing his work" and that "vengeance against Batman is a reward for her patience."

LOL I don't remember her dialogue that well. I guess this is where I got all that information.

And here I thought I was being creative, when subconciously I knew because.... she SAY IT

Do not worry guys, we won't see Blake as Batman anytime soon because Bruce was broke when he gave the cape and cowl to Blake and he simply cannot afford to be Batman.

This movie was really good.. I don't really get it though cause Bane WAS born in a prison but in the movie you find out it was Thalia. And personally I feel like batman did not have a very significant role in the movie like he should have. And also Bane should have been waay beastlier, I mean he kinda was but not insane like in the comics

I know there were a lot of loose ends in this movie.

But my only one that kept itching me was : How the hell did he get back to Gotham after escaping the prison?
Did he walk over that ice?

And I really thought that he was gonna die... Then my girl kept buzzing in my ears about the Auto Pilot. So i guess I was slow for that one.

I also knew that Blake wasn't named after any of the Robin's (before they said Robin at the end) so I thought that he eventually woulda been the next batman like that got damn Batman Beyond show.

They basically left it as an open book. I don't know what to expect since Nolan said that this is the end.

Anyhow. From when I first found out that Bane was the villain, I was caught off guard because in the shows he was never a real supervillain IMO he was basically the hired muscle. SO I really wasnt expecting much out of him.

But he really had me buggin. I'm not sure if I'll say that this one is better than the second one, but this one definitely brought new things to the table.
Dude REALLY took over the damn city. No one else did that. It was basically seceded from the rest of the nation.

The whole theater started dying @ Talia's death.

just saw it... gonna have to read up on those links but so far I liked it a lot but Bane's voice a lot of the time needed subtitles.

Still think that Joker as a villain overall was better. Acting superb

Banes death pissed me off....it almost reminded me of Venom dying in the Spiderman movie. I agree with the article in that I liked the movie but I disliked a lot of it as well.
