THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Official Thread - 6/28 - TV Spot 10 on Last Page (More Selina Kyle)

The movie exceeded my expectations and ranks right up there with TDK as the best comic book movie of all time...Yes, even better than the Avengers. I found myself wanting more! That's hard to do with a comic book style movie...

But here's a question that I haven't seen posted yet...
At the end, when Batman supposedly flies off into the sunset to dispose of the nuke, HOW and WHY was the BAT able to be recovered? Wouldn't the explosion of the bomb totally disintegrate the machine? I can understand the whole autopiliot theory, but when Lucious and the other guy are inspecting the BAT at the end and discover that the autopilot feature was corrected, how'd they piece it back together to even look into it?

Hmmm...

Hmmm...

Two 'Bat's were made. The one at the end was the prototype.

so why would there be a fix log on a prototype then? prototypes dont normally change on a large scale like fixing the autopilot. its the next version of the proto that gets the adjustment. nah man, dude has a valid point that i dont think was touched on.

kinda like how bruce was able to furnish his house with old pictures and trinkets that were burned in BB.

why are you guys still using spoilers???

and for all we know batman cut the string that the nuke was tied to The Bat and thats how he escaped, he could have left it far enough for him to be safe yet still be damaged

Saw it a second time.

A lot of questions or holes if you will where taken care of.

Talia's and Bane's motivations still don't make no damn sense though.

You gonna take out yourself and 12 million people for a dude that you loose?

Technically speaking wouldn't both of them have been prototypes, since of that the stuff in that Arsenal was, and just stockpiled and never used?
Either way the change log wouldn't necessarily have to be in the actual vehicle. The mechanics device could have just been looking at information stored on the companies servers where everything that was changed on the design would be stored.

Saw the movie yesterday.

I was impressed, but I really thought the bat would die even before seeing the movie.

The part where Bane breaks batman's back was sick.

And a lot of good questions in this thread...

It was nice to see scarecrow!

"Death.... By exile!"

I loved Bane's voice. It's polar opposite to his appearance.

This. A lot of people don't realize he's supposed to be the embodiment of a physical beast with the voice of a diabolical mastermind. He is supposed to be the character that tested bats physically and emotionally.

I loved everything about Bane and how hardy portrayed him, voice and all.

movie was fantastic.

no real spoilers in my post, just some observations.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Tommy from 3rd Rock seemed forced into the movie early on. his voice bothered me much more than Bane's. he had some type of 'deep for no reason' ... Suzy Kolber type swag. his 10 minute monologue at Wayne Manor was super unnecessary and didnt really provide any insight.

i thought this whole dialogue was supposed to explain how he found out about Bruce's identity. in the end, it was about his childhood and ended with "when i saw you, i knew it was you"

f outta here, Tommy. you're no master detective.... you hothead.

Catwoman
Anne Hathaway killed it. i didnt know what to expect, no strong feelings either way. after watching it, her acting chops were exactly what was needed for that character. straight up conniving and deceitful. the scene in the bar was amazing. the range and quick change of emotions was pretty impressive.

i felt she and Ms. Tate couldve been developed more. their relationships with Bruce seemed to come together rather quickly. i woulve preferred more time spent on them, and less time with Tommy and Commissioner Gordon.

speaking of Ms. Tate... i literally :wow: when i put the pieces together. played Arkham City with my nephew... dope character. needed more.

Bane
voice threw me off at first. as some have stated, it almost seemed as if the voice was coming from off-camera. throughout the rest of the movie, it kind of settled in. that mask generates and pumps gas into him to breathe, right? so the slight variance of tone and pitch seemed kind of on point.

other than that opening scene, i have no complaints. Hardy killed it. it's hard to exude such swag and confidence when half of your face and body is covered in machinery. he did it with ease.

saw it on a giant DLP screen with DMAX seats, or some nonsense. it was cool. but going to see IMAX version with the homies this weekend. seems necessary.

Finally saw the movie, it was great.

First off. Anne is bad, not really into white girls but I can dig a brunette. Never notice that she had full lips before and they looked good in IMAX. I needed more shots of her on the bike. When she got on and pushed back, to saddle in, was appreciated.

I now having a crazing for a white girl. DAMN

I call that the boy in prison looked like a girl.

I can't tell if Bane was in love or had love for ole girl but he has pedo tendencies.

It was nice to see Wayne at the end and in his situation.

Wish Heath wasn't dead cause a Joker cameo would have been good.

Lastly, this can't be the end. They left it wide open for Robin to take over. I think it will be a Nolan executive produce movie not directed.

Lastly, there will be a reboot and soon. With DC pushing for a 2015 justice league. They will either incentivize Nolan and Bale or it will be an uphill battle to match this trilogy.

The more I think about it, this should have been split into two movies.

Could flesh out the characters much better. Get deeper into their motivations. Show the federal government's reaction. The politics of everything that woukd be happening. Get into bane's background. Maybe show us a bit of what happened since TDK. A few scenes with talia Ra's and bane. Show more of the prison. Show how Bruce gets back to Gotham after he's out the pit

It's amazing how much material there could be.

Imagine the first movie finishes with Bane and Bruce's first fight. Or right after Bane takes over the city.

Anyone have a link to the chants...it got me so pumped..especially when Bruce was attempting to escape the prison :pimp:

Not sure if anyone has posted this, but I've been listening to the TDKR soundtrack.  "Fear Will Find You".  That track is straight pump up music.  Hans Zimmer is brilliant.
