THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Official Thread - 6/28 - TV Spot 10 on Last Page (More Selina Kyle)

And yes Bane is more than just a villain he's a PRESENCE throughout the film. The cinematagrophy was amazing considering Hardy is only 5'9" but felt well over 6 feet. The scene on the roof where Batman and Catwoman are escaping the gunfire and he's just casually strolling towrds them with that glare in his eyes. He was like a lion on the prowl, stalking his prey non-chalantly. One of the most cold-blooded parts was after he gives Bruce his speech in the jail he stands up and presses down on Bruce's chest like "Oh yeah here's a little reminder of what I did to you"

Dude was just standing there like "I'll kill 'em later"

When he broke Batmans back :smh: :pimp:

Someone explain how the batpod (batbike) works. The wheels spinning sideways have me stumped.

^ They would do the reboot, I think WB has already somewhat confirmed it. I highly doubt it that whomever gets the keys to the franchise would go down and revisit Nolan's universe (unless he's the producer). Tough luck for the next guy.

I've always wondered about this too. Wouldn't spinning the front wheel to turn, damage the gun cannons mounted on the side as the cannon would have to make contact with the ground.

Ok it's been almost a week and after it settling in for a week, I really loved this film. I was one of those people who absolutely praised TDK and Heath's Joker... I can quote that movie front to back and still can watch it without getting bored. I said there was NO WAY it could be topped, but TDKR might have.

I'll have to revisit this in like a year and see how I feel, because of course it's been 4 years since TDK opened, and it felt like the most epic thing ever when it released. But Tom Hardy KILLED it as Bane. The pure intimidation factor he had, like dude said, in the court room he was just chillin to the side and everyone was still like :nerd:

"Do you feel in charge?"

Christopher Nolan really made 3 amazing films, not just super hero movies, but great films over all. Can't wait to see it in IMAX one last time while it's in theaters.

Many also don't realize that his voice is supposed to represent his genius.
:nerd: How does it? I've seen that said a few times.

People were right saying his voice was a mix of Sean Connery and Darth Vader. It was like a cartoon voice.

If you think about the voice it's distinguished, condescending and menacing at the same time. I don't think it sounded cartoonish and c'mon the Vader voice is that voice that'll make you pee your pants. In fact The Vader/Bane comparison is there: The scene in the sewer where he chokes the thug to death totally reminiscent of the scene in OG star Wars where Vader force grips that smart ***** soldier for taunting Vader's "religion".

Tom Hardy modeled the voice after Bartley Gorman a bare knuckle, irish traveling gypsy aka King of the Gypsies. Think of Brad Pitt's character in Snatch.

I enjoyed his voice, save for the redubbed plane scene. I'm hoping the blu-ray contains the original audio or at least has the prologue with the original audio.

yea, in one of the scenes when catwoman was riding it, you do actually see the wheel spin over the cannons.

I Know I'm real late but I just seen it. I was invery interes in Talia's story. Did I spell it right? Anyway, its crazy that she was evil the whole time. I was like wowwww. Not only because of that but because I thought Bain was doing his own thing the whole time but he was working for her. Reminded me when he worked for Poison Ivy  but this was wayyyyyyyy better. Anyway it was a great movie!

was going to be a better movie if my man bruce died at the end tho

was there any thing after the credits tho?

I have to say Doyung8's rant was the most logical thing I have read on here in a while. The movie as a whole satisfied me, even mores than TDK. As someone who has studied 'audience engagement', this more than touched on the requisites of that subject. From the story arc, through the conflict, the pacing, the reasoning, the climax and the conclusion, it left me more happy and at peace than TDK did. The Joker played an amazing job and noone will ever top Ledger's Joker cuz the character was so eccentric to begin with. Noone will ever compare. Comparing Bane to Joker is 2 completely different things and I guarantee that should there ever be a reboot with Bane or any other tough guy character, it will be measured against Hardy's Bane (and will probably fail to live up to it just because of how masterfully this was done)

And for those that said there wasn't enough Bane, I thought it had just enough it, enough for us to show us his power and command. Like I said in an earlier post, his presence spreads far beyond his screentime, and you felt like Gotham was his even if he wasn't even in the shot or in the scene at all. He was just a 'henchman' after all. If you're craving for more fight scenes between Bats and Bane then you should probably stick to The Incredible Hulk ( bw him and Abomination) or the Avengers. This movie actually required some intellect, emotional investment and personal relation with the characters. Something that I feel the Avengers, as enjoyable as it was, wasn't nearly as successful in drawing from their audiences.

This movie left me perfectly satisfied. Happy, not wanting more, and completely at peace, something I can't say for 95% of multi-film franchises out there ever

It seems to me that the Joker would have been much better suited for the role of judge during the tribunals. |I

This movie has enough strong and commanding personalities that bringin the Joker back in the situation would be OD. People are already complaining enough about not enough Bats and Bane screentime that we don't need to add one more character. Personally I would have been happier if it was just someone random in power, and not bring back Cillian Murphy's
Scarecrow

Honestly, even if Heath Ledger was still alive to play the role (R.I.P), the whole idea of Joker being in this film as well would be overkill to the amount of roles in it.

Just like you said, there wouldn't be enough screen time for everyone.

While the point is obviously moot given Heath's death, it was only one scene.

Yeah, but in a movie that spans almost 3 hours, would everyone really just be happy with ONE scene of the Joker?
People are asking for a Joker scene, or wishing there was one, but in reality it we were given a Joker scene, there would be thousands of complaints about how Joker only got one scene.

You want it because you don't have it. But if they were to give it to you, you wouldn't truly appreciate it.

This movie whether Heath was alive or not, is much better without a Joker cameo...

It would have been nice for him to be referenced, but not filmed.

Given the magnitude and success of the Joker and TDK, we all know we can't accept just one scene of Ledger's Joker had he not died. Thered me more outcry about that than Bats and Bane
